Chapter 3

The bathroom was a really amazing place. In here, you could either hear some gossip, or meet some acquaintances.

Fu Anna didn’t expect to encounter both at the same time. She took her bag and was about to open the door and leave, when she heard someone coming in from outside.

“Ugh, Fang Ziqi is so annoying! It’s bad enough that he invited a bunch of underage high school girls, why did he have to invite Zheng Man too?”

“Yeah, I hate seeing Zheng Man’s arrogant face! She’s not even as good as Fu Anna!”

Fu Anna was confused. Why did you two have to drag me into it when you were badmouthing Zheng Man?

Speaking of the people they mentioned, she knew them too.

Zheng Man was probably what people called the perfect child. When everyone else was still playing in the mud, she was already sitting at home in a little dress playing the piano.

When they went to school, Fu Anna and Zheng Man both attended Jingbei No.1 High School. They were both so pretty that people secretly called them the Jingbei Beauties.

Zheng Man had a pure and lovely appearance, like a gardenia flower. She was also tall and thin, and had a knack for dressing elegantly.

Fu Anna was different. She had a rich and gorgeous look, with fair skin, beautiful features, big breasts and a slim waist. She wore the school uniform shirt in a way that showed off her curves.

They had a school beauty contest, and Fu Anna won by a narrow margin over Zheng Man.

Later she heard from Ji Qing that Zheng Man and her group of friends were always unhappy. They said that Zheng Man could play the piano and dance, but she couldn’t do anything. How could she be the school beauty?

Fu Anna thought to herself, who said I couldn’t do anything? I can curse people too, very scary.

But that’s how they became enemies, and they never got along well. After graduating from high school, Fu Anna went abroad to study, while Zheng Man studied art, broadcasting and hosting at a domestic university.

She heard that she was working at a TV station now. She didn’t know if this lady was used to working for others. Fu Anna thought maliciously.

She waited until the two people outside left before she opened the door and came out. The door opposite also opened at the same time, and their eyes met.

The first thing she saw was a pair of black and red professional high heels, then a black wrap skirt with elegant lines, and then a simple shirt with a clever collar design.

Fu Anna recognized it as a new product from a certain brand. She looked up and saw that it was Zheng Man.

She couldn’t help but feel a bit of schadenfreude. She wondered what Zheng Man felt when she heard people talking behind her back.

The two of them didn’t say anything strangely. They washed their hands at the sink and then took out their lipsticks to touch up their makeup.

“Are you here to have fun?” The person next to her spoke, with a clear and cold tone of a host.

“Yeah.” Fu Anna answered briefly, then didn’t say anything else.

A normal person would have asked another question at this point, like what are you doing here? But Fu Anna didn’t.

One, she didn’t like Zheng Man at all and didn’t want to talk to her.

Two, she didn’t care what Zheng Man was doing here. She didn’t care about her life or death.

Zheng Man waited for a while but didn’t hear Fu Anna say anything else. The sarcastic words she had prepared had nowhere to go.

She felt even more annoyed. She stopped touching up her makeup and looked at her sideways. Even after so many years, Fu Anna was still flamboyant and charming. Her style of dressing was also the same as before, showing off her good figure to the fullest.

She never knew how to be low-key.

“I heard that you didn’t look for a job after you came back from studying abroad?” Zheng Man asked with sarcasm in her voice.

Fu Anna thought for a moment and thought about her nominal job. She only went there once or twice a month, sometimes even once every two months. She felt that it didn’t count as a job, so she answered honestly.

“Yeah, I’m living off my dad.”

Zheng Man really didn’t understand how she could be so casual. “You have hands and feet but rely on your family. Don’t you feel ashamed?”

This question really surprised Fu Anna. She turned around and looked at Zheng Man from head to toe with a strange expression on her face. “Zheng Man, do you have a crush on me?”

Zheng Man was stunned.

Fu Anna said, “Why do you care so much about me?” She threw her lipstick into her bag and smiled at her. “Besides, I’m a law-abiding citizen, I respect the elderly and love the young, I care for nature, I help old ladies cross the road, I don’t litter, I don’t spit. I’m fine. Just because I have money and don’t work, should I find a tofu block and smash my head on it and shout, ‘I’m useless’?”

She took out a tissue and wiped her hands, then threw it into the trash can next to her. She walked forward a step and stood in front of Zheng Man, chin slightly raised. “As for what you said, praying that my family will always have money…”

Fu Anna sneered, her aura bursting out. “My family has been rich for generations, not like some small families that only got rich in recent years. You can’t compare with us.” Even though my mom said that my family was going bankrupt soon.

But she wouldn’t let that happen.

She ignored Zheng Man’s pale face and looked at her one more time, from bottom to top, with the arrogance of a superior. “Mind your own business.”

She didn’t go back to the private room until she sent a message to the group chat on her phone.

[Anna: I went to the bathroom and saw Zheng Man. What does that mean?]

The first one to reply was Ji Qing, almost instantly. Fu Anna guessed that she was watching a live stream and didn’t leave her phone.

[Ji Qing: It means that the dirty stuff wasn’t flushed away.]

[Anna: Correct!]

[Anna: She lectured me for a while, saying that I didn’t look for a job and didn’t want to improve myself. She acted like I did something terrible.]

[Ji Qing: Hahaha, I bet Zheng Man wanted to show off her job to you, but you didn’t fall for it.]

How ridiculous. Was this something to show off?

What was so great about it? Were there few people in the world who had jobs and did well? Couldn’t she just mind her own business?

Fu Anna felt that she and Zheng Man were really incompatible.

When she returned to the private room, there were a lot of people sitting there.

Qin Zhengyang was worried about how to tell her that Zheng Man had arrived, when he saw this ancestor come back with an even worse face than before.

Qin Zhengyang pulled her over. “You’re finally back. Let me tell you, Zheng…”

“Zheng Man is here,” Fu Anna said for him. “I know. I just ran into her in the bathroom. Bad luck.”

She had already met her?

Qin Zhengyang couldn’t help but look at the door. He saw Zheng Man come in and looked at her up and down. He whispered to her. “You didn’t push her into the sink? I thought you would grab her hair and push her into the sink to let her experience the cold.”

Fu Anna said quietly. “I want to push you into the sink now and let you experience the cold.”

Qin Zhengyang said helplessly. “Why? I’m on your side!”

Fu Anna pushed him away. Who wanted to be on the same side as an i***t? She looked around and saw a few girls in school uniforms sitting in the corner.

“Fang Ziqi invited them?”

Qin Zhengyang didn’t know what she was talking about. He followed her gaze and saw the people. He understood. “Yeah, he likes schoolgirls. It’s no secret.”

Fu Anna turned her head and looked at him. She saw that he didn’t care at all. “Don’t you know that these are the flowers of our country?”

Qin Zhengyang was speechless.

“What?”

Fu Anna didn’t want to talk to him anymore. She looked at the girls again and wondered what they were thinking.

Qin Zhengyang thought she was in a bad mood because of Zheng Man’s arrival, so he changed the topic. “Hey, it’s Monday tomorrow. Are you going to Dingcheng to see your grandma?”

Fu Anna’s grandma lived in a courtyard house in Dingcheng. Fu’s father said that it was where Fu’s grandma and grandpa fell in love when they were young, so they retired there.

“I’m going tomorrow, and bring her the materials she asked for.” Fu Anna nodded. She went to Dingcheng once a week to visit the old lady.

She had a very good relationship with Fu’s grandma. Since she was little, she would go to Fu’s grandma’s place every summer and winter vacation.

“What materials? Can you carry them by yourself?”

“Just some teaching supplies, not very heavy. She said she had a few new kids last time, and there weren’t enough books.”

Fu’s grandma taught in Dingcheng. The old lady was a university professor when she was young, and after retiring, she still loved teaching. However, she retired from college to teach children in small places who have no money to study.

Fu Anna looked over and saw that Zheng Manyi’s clothes were stained with wine. It was her who had screamed just now.

Zheng Manyi’s face was not very good, and the girl sitting next to her didn’t expect to be so careless. Her face turned pale and she stood up and apologized profusely.

Zheng Manyi was in a bad mood. She had just been annoyed by Fu Anna in the bathroom, and now she came back and was splashed with wine by someone. She was very embarrassed, but she cared about her image and didn’t lose her temper.

Besides, this person was invited by Fang Ziqi, and she didn’t want to embarrass him in public.

She was about to say that it was okay and let it go, when she heard someone say from the side, “If apologizing works, what do we need the police for?”

Zheng Manyi’s hand that was patting her clothes paused, and she looked up at Fu Anna who spoke.

What was wrong with her?

Fu Anna walked over with a glass of wine, her tone cold. “Do you know how much this dress costs? Do you think you can get away with spilling wine and saying sorry?”

Zheng Manyi’s brows furrowed tighter, and she saw Fang Ziqi’s face turn ugly. She thought Fu Anna was sick and hurriedly tried to smooth things over. “It’s okay, it wasn’t intentional.”

“Does that mean you don’t have to take responsibility?” Fu Anna seemed to not want to let go of the girl in front of her, and continued to speak.

The girl also felt awkward, as if she didn’t expect that the person who was splashed with wine didn’t care, but another person who was fine made a big deal out of it.

“Sister, I’m really sorry… How about I pay you?” she said.

“You can’t afford it.” Fu Anna’s voice became colder. “This dress is worth a year’s salary of your parents without eating or drinking.”

There was no sound in the room for a moment. Everyone looked at this side, watching Fu Anna bully people.

Qin Zhengyang saw the atmosphere and quickly came over to pull her.

“Sis, what are you doing? Why are you arguing with a little girl?”

Fu Anna didn’t budge. “A little girl is also a person.”

Qin Zhengyang saw that he couldn’t persuade this lady, and quickly gave Fang Ziqi a look.

Fang Ziqi knew this lady’s temper well, and came out to mediate. “Hey, this person is brought by me. How about this, I apologize for her, and I’ll pay for the dress.” He said to the girl sternly, “Hurry up and bow to her and apologize, and get out of here. You’re really embarrassing me!”

The girl’s face turned pale, and she bowed at a ninety-degree angle, said sorry, and then took her bag and left with tears in her eyes. The other girls who came with her saw this and also took their things and left.

Zheng Manyi also felt awkward. It wasn’t a big deal but Fu Anna made it like this. She felt that Fu Anna did it on purpose.

“Fu Anna, how can you be so unreasonable!” She looked at Fu Anna. “She’s just a little girl, do you have to bully her?”

The people around were quiet and watched the drama. They didn’t dare to interrupt or offend Fu Anna.

Fu Anna stood there lazily. “Who told you to provoke me today?”

Zheng Manyi felt that it was indeed the case. She was so angry that her face turned red. She pointed at Fu Anna for a long time, but didn’t say anything. She took her things and left.

Everyone figured out something.

“So that’s how it is. I thought Fu Anna was being kind and helping those girls leave. After all, who doesn’t know Fang Ziqi…”

“Yeah, me too. Now it seems that Fu Anna is really just being a spoiled lady and picking on Zheng Manyi…”

Fu Anna heard what they said, but didn’t care. She raised her eyebrows at Fang Ziqi, drank the wine in her glass in one gulp, and said, “Thanks for your popularity Zheng Manyi, this wine is my apology.”

Fang Ziqi had also thought that Fu Anna wouldn’t do it on purpose, but just wanted to stir things up and make those girls leave. But now he felt that she must have had a grudge against Zheng Manyi, and he didn’t want to argue with Fu Anna either.

He smiled and waved his hand. “How dare I? I can’t accept Miss Fu’s apology wine.”

“Next time don’t invite Zheng Manyi if you invite me, and don’t invite me if you invite Zheng Manyi.” She slammed the glass on the table and walked out of the box.

As soon as she left, the voices inside became louder.

“Fu Anna really has a bad temper, right? I didn’t believe it when I heard people say it before.”

“Me neither. They said she was arrogant, rude, scolded people, and even slapped people.”

“Really? She slapped people?”

"Really. "

Qin Zhengyang’s cheerful voice interrupted the gossiping people. “I was slapped by her. I can testify, hehe.”

He said and followed Fu Anna out.

The gossiping people felt a bit awkward. They forgot that Fu Anna left, but there was still Qin Zhengyang who was close to her in the box.

Fu Anna didn’t leave. She was at the door of the box. Qin Zhengyang came out and saw her.

He brought her bag out and threw it to her. “Are you happy?”

Fu Anna took the bag and didn’t say anything.

Qin Zhengyang shook his head helplessly. “Don’t meddle in other people’s business.”

“…You saw through it? No way, I acted so well.”

Qin Zhengyang was speechless. She did act well. If he didn’t know her, he would have thought she was just a spoiled lady like the people in the box.

“Really, don’t meddle. Fang Ziqi is not a good guy.” He said. “If you really piss him off, who knows if this bastard will bite you.”

Fu Anna didn’t make a sound.

She didn’t care if she didn’t see it, but if she saw it, she couldn’t help but meddle.

Qin Zhengyang knew she didn’t listen by looking at her expression. “You care about them, do they appreciate you? Maybe those girls think you’re blocking their way to wealth.”

Fu Anna kicked him. “Get lost, can’t I do a good deed?”

Qin Zhengyang felt that she was nosy. “Fine, I’ll take you back.”

“Okay.”

The two walked away slowly, not noticing that the door of another box was open. Inside it was pitch black, and a wall of surveillance videos reflected faint white light in the dark box. In the corner, there seemed to be someone sitting there, and there seemed to be the sound of beads turning. A crimson light flashed between his fingers.
