James’ reassuring words calmed her down and her breathing regularized. He surely was a drug to her system. If she wasn’t careful enough, she would end up getting hurt. This time it would be far worse than what she felt when Scarlet met her mate.
Scarlet’s memory caused her pain and James looked at her.
“What happened? What is hurting you?” James said softly so only she could hear.
She looked up at him. “Scarlet! I would have never thought of getting engaged without her being around and yet here we are walking hand in hand towards our engagement while she is getting abused somewhere inside the no man’s land. I promise I am going to kill each and every wolf who laid a hand on her and Jade.” She said with determination.
They reached the ballroom. Waru hugged her and congratulated her.
