The entire celebration was over in under 2 hours. They all headed to their work stations.
Kirra wasn’t well yet. Her left palm still hurt. Her wounds and bruises were raw. Mangana asked her to retire to her room to rest.
James was observing everything around him, although subconsciously his attention was towards Kirra. He was ready to be by her side even at the slightest show of discomfort, but she did not give him a chance.
Waru and Koen came up to him, “Please stay in your room. You have not attracted any attention yet, thanks to Kirra’s condition and ceremony. But it won’t take long for the wolves to notice.” He did not wait to hear anything from James. Ignoring him expertly the two young-looking nonagenarians walked into the packhouse.
