The Elementists- Rise of Blood Moon

CHAPTER-1 A completely different world

A girl walked into her high school, she was wearing a simple t-shirt, a simple jean and cut shoes, she had brown hair, highlighting blue eyes, and nice rosy lips, she was beautiful… but she din’t have a sense of fashion, she was innocent and lonely.

She held few books in her hands and wore a black backpack, she walked to her class, she entered her class and sat in the right corner seat in the first row, no one really cared about her since she was left her in the orphanage, she was often bullied and scolded for no reason but all the teachers in the school knew about her and she was actually a teacher’s pet, she had excellent grades and had really good behavior, she never even reported to any teacher about students bulling her, no one even liked her because she was silent and mysterious. The teacher entered the class, “Good Morning students” she greeted, she looked at the girl, and “Miss Rose will you please distribute the test papers you wrote yesterday” the girl stood up, took the test papers and started distributing the papers, “Amy Rose…. The nerd!” a boy shouted from one corner, few students sniggered, Amy Din’t care about his comment and continued distributing the papers, “Amy Rose is not only a nerd but also a lonely little ugly duckling!” a girl student said from a corner, Amy’s grip on the papers tightened, “CLASS IS THE MANNER YOU TREAT YOUR CLASSMATE?!´the teacher bellowed, “Its fine Mrs. Oliver… I am used to this, they are just trying to have fun” Amy interrupted, Mrs. Oliver nodded, Amy finished distributing the papers and sat on her seat, someone threw a piece of crumbled paper on her head, few people giggled, the teacher had already started the lessons, Amy took the crumpled ball of paper and opened it:

Happy Birthday Amy meet me in the restroom… at break time (before anyone else comes in)

It was written messily, Amy had totally forgotten that today was her birthday, a big smile appeared on her face, she turned back to see where the paper ball had come from, but no one

Was paying attention to her or was looking at her [who threw this paper ball on me?!], the class got over after all the other classes, Amy ran to the restroom before anyone else.

She entered the restroom, no one was waiting for her she sighed and looked at herself in the mirror, she pulled a head band out of her pocket and put her hair into a ponytail, “Happy Birthday Amy…” she said to herself looking at the mirror, she gave a fake smile, “finally you are turning 18! You’ve grown up so much! And you-“she was telling to herself looking at the mirror and she suddenly stopped looking at the mirror, it was cracking Amy went few steps back, [What the hell is happening why is the mirror cracking?!], Amy slowly raised her hand to touch the cracked surface and SWOOSH!!!- The mirror pulled her in, Amy quickly got hold of the tap but the pull was strong that the pipe broke and water splattered everywhere, the mirror pulled her in. It was pitch dark and Amy felt as if she was being pulled in to a strong swirling tornado, “OH MY GOD!!! WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING?!” Amy yelled and suddenly she felt as if she was thrown into a pool of water, “Glug!” Amy tried to breath but she couldn’t as the water went into her nose and ears, she was still being pulled into the water and suddenly she was thrown out on the ground Amy fell on her knees and palms on a lawn coughing and gagging for breath.

Amy stood up wet from head to toe, water dripping from her head to chin, she looked around, the surrounding was beautiful, big Stone buildings like a palace, H signs everywhere, weird looking flowers either glowing or shimmering, and benches and tables here and there’ Amy walked mesmerized by the sight, “whoa! How did I end up h—“Amy started and she walked into some one, and fell on the ground “I’m so sorry I Din’t mean to--”, “no it’s fine…? I was just lost…into my book”, it was a boy, he had brown hair and a really kind and friendly face, the boy stood up, “I’m extremely sorry! I was looking around and I just Din’t see what is ahead of me” Amy apologized still sitting on the ground, the boy smiled and gave his hand, Amy took it and stood up, “It was my fault too I Din’t look forward I was lost into my potions book” the boy said, Amy smiled, “Never mind it happens to me to, even I bump into someone or something when I read a book while walking”, “OH you read books?!” the boy asked, Amy smiled, ‘yeah! It takes me to another world, I feel free when I read books, and they are just amazing!” Amy said enjoying the feeling of someone talking to her in a friendly manner, “By the way I am Becket Harrington” the boy said, “Amy Rose ☺” Amy said, Becket smiled and looked at Amy properly, “Oh my… why are you so wet?!” he asked, “oh that, I was suddenly pulled into a mirror and I ended up here! ” Amy said expecting a surprised effect on Beckets face, but he smiled, [What the…? Why is he smiling?!], “you must have teleported wrong! ” he said smiling at Amy, “The thing is you shouldn’t have panicked… no probs… I am an Air Att! I can help you” he said, [Teleport? Air Att?! What are those?], Becket simply did some hand movements and suddenly Amy watched Becket her eyes narrowing, Becket raised his hands and made his palms face Amy and suddenly air went rushing on Amy making her dry in second, Amy’s jaw dropped, “HOW DID YOU DO THAT?!” Amy asked loudly, “hey calm down! Why are you acting as if you’ve never seen anybody do magic?!” Becket cried, [MAGIC?! WAS THAT A SPELL, LIKE THE ONE WHICH COMES IN HARRY POTTER?!], Amy looked at Becket calmly, “The truth is I’ve never seen a spell I’ve seen magic...” Amy lied, beck gave a sigh of relief “thank goodness, one second I thought you were an intruder and I had to report you to any professor or Dean Swan directly” he said, “intruder?!” Amy gave a nervous laugh, “how is that possible?  And what… what would they do if the find any intruder? ” Amy asked nervously “What else would the management do they would kill the person if he/she doesn’t have magic” Becket said casually, “KILL?! isn’t that rude” Amy asked worried about her life, “No Amy it is not rude! How could you possibly let a person know about the world of Elementists?!”Becket asked, [I am an intruder1, and I can’t possibly do magic! what do I do now?! I have to get out of this place at once!], Amy smiled nervously , “You are right, Becket, I should be going now” Amy said, Becket nodded , “You are right Amy, there are only 2 hours left for the welcoming ceremony to start…..Yeah and one more thing I want to ask you “ he said, “Yeah?!” Amy asked scared of getting killed, Are you a freshman?!” he asked, [Huh?! What do I answer?!Probably], Amy smiled nervously and nodded her head, “Yes I am a freshman” Amy said, “Right! Bye then see you at the welcoming ceremony☺” he said and walked away after waving, “God how did I end up here, the way people talk here is so weird….Air Att, Dean , professors, teleport and what the hell is an Elementist? ” Amy mumbled to herself, she started walking forward, “ I don’t want to get killed…and I don’t even want to go back to the boring high school life… what do I do?!” she mumbled to herself and finally reached a big oak door, [this must be some kind of campus or school] Amy raised her hand to push the door open but the door opened by itself, “Cool” Amy mumbled and entered, there was a big corridor filled with boys and girls either doing magic or talking, Amy smiled amazed by the enthusiastic sight, she started walking blindly in the corridor, and suddenly a metal armor blocked her way, Amy looked up, “Verification?” It said in a robotic voice, Amy’s heart started to beat rapidly, “Wh… Wh...What d...do you mean by Verification?” Amy askes stammering, “Your Name?” the armor asked in a robotic voice, “Amy Rose.” Amy said closing her eyes and telling the truth honestly not afraid of the consequences ahead, “Scanning…” the armor said, “I’m sorry I don’t even know how I ended up here, I promise I Din’t-“, “ You may proceed..”the armor said, [why is this metal armor no stopping me or throwing me out or killing me?!], “What?!” Amy asked, “You may proceed to your dorm…please be ready for the welcoming ceremony held in 2 hours” the armor said, “Aren’t you killing me or investigating on me? ” she asked, “Investigations and elimination will only be done if you are an intruder but you are not an intruder and a Student of the Heather Hills University” the armor said, [So I am not an intruder! And I am standing in a university? And I am a student here, what the hell is going on?! Someone has called me here on purpose, and that person even remembers my birthday and therefore that person cares for me in some sort of indirect way, I am going to stay here, no one even cares about me in the non-magical world, and I already found a friend here…], Amy smiled, “so,….. What am I supposed to do next?” Amy asked softly and slowly, “you will have to attend the Welcoming Ceremony first, go to your dorm and change into your uniform and go down to the gathering hall for the Welcoming Ceremony” the armor said robotically, “Oh… but how do I get to the dorm?’ Amy asked, “Do you want a map?” the armor asked, and “that would help... thank you☺”, “Order Received… Conjuring map” the armor said and suddenly a map appeared on the armors glinting metal hands, Amy gaped at the map, she slowly took it, “thank you” Amy said her eyes still fixed in the magically appeared map, the armor walked away Amy unrolled the map,[what the?! It is blank!] Amy tried shaking pulling and even crumbling the map but nothing appeared on the map, “How do I go to my dorm?!” Amy mumbled to herself looking at the crumpled piece of map, she uncrumbled the map vigorously, and to her surprise wordings had appeared on the map- where do you want to go?... [Cool it is voice activated!] , “Uhhh… my dorm” she said, “Are you a female or a male?” the wordings in the map asked, “female”, “here are the directions to the girls dormitory” the map’s wordings said and the wordings changed- go straight(till the wordings change), Amy started to walk forward, Amy walked to the girls dormitory and finally as the map’s wordings said your destination has arrived, Amy looked up,[Huh?!], she had ended up in front of a big velvet blue wall, “Did I reach the destination?!” Amy asked the map, you are at the destination, no doubt about that, the map’s wordings said,” but I am standing in front of a big velvet wall! ” Amy bellowed, you will have enter the dormitory by touching the wall with your hands with the magic you are attuned to but for now as you have not taken your attunement test till now you can just enter with any element magic, the wordings said, “What?! Magic?! I don’t have any MAGIC!!!!!” Amy cried to herself, entering the wards of Heather Hills without magic is impossible! The wordings said, “There must be SOME MISUNDERSTANDING!!!!” Amy said in tension of being in the world she was so unfamiliar with. “I’ll have to wait for someone…” Amy said softly, she stood there for few moments and finally a girl showed up, she was wearing round glasses and had short pink hair and had a good sense of fashion, probably turned her hair into a different color using magic, [She looks kind probably I can ask her for help], Amy folded up the crumbly map and tucked it into her pocket, the looked at Amy, she seemed to be whistling down the corridor and stopped whistling as soon as she saw Amy, Amy gave a small smile the girl walked up to her, ”Hey, what happened why are you standing in front of the girl’s dormitory?” she asked casually but in a friendly manner, Amy smiled and cornered her fringe “Actually I can’t… I mean I don’t know how to get into the dorm☹” Amy said softly, the girl smiled, “Oh! You just have to pass your magic onto the wall…” she said, Amy nodded “Oh! I get it” Amy said and stood there without doing anything, “Go on, and try it!” the girl said, Amy looked up with a stupid expression, “Try….. What?” Amy asked, She smiled, “Pass your magic on the wall…” she said, [Great I can’t do magic!], “why …don’t…you try” Amy said hiding the fact that she can’t do magic, the girl made a suspicious face, “Fine” she said numbly and simply raise her hand, suddenly there was a ball of water in her hands, , but to her surprise the girl’s hand was perfectly alright, “Cool!, god knows how you people do that” Amy blurted out fascinated by the magic, the girl looked at Amy with a weird expression and shot her magic on  the wall, the wall suddenly started to disintegrate revealing a big teak door, Amy’s eyes widened at the sight, the girl stood at the same place starring at Amy’s behavior, Amy looked at the girl, she was quite embarrassed seeing the girl starring at her, “I’m sorry, the thing is… I was sort of over exited” Amy said slowly, “Its fine, I think I can understand” the girl said, “Any ways thank you “Amy said, and opened the door and walked in, “She is weird….. But nice” the girl mumbled to herself and went to her dorm.

Amy who was totally fascinated by the magical world, went to the reception and found her dorm number, “Dorm number-345” Amy said to herself climbing to the third floor, she walked down the corridor going through the door numbers, finally she had found her dorm number she quickly entered into the dorm, the dorm was cozy and really comfortable, there was a big common room, with a fire place and 2 bid long couches of royal blue color, there were three doors, Amy walked inside , suddenly someone jumped out of one of the doors, “Stop right there!” it was the same girl who helped Amy at the dorm entrance , Amy stood at the same place, obeying her, the girl was shocked seeing Amy, “Hey” Amy said softly and waving, the girl smiled “So Are you lost now?” she asked softly,

“No”

“Then? ”

“I am assigned to this room”

“OH! ”

“Are you fine with it? ” Amy asked softly

“Yes absolutely! There is no problem! ”

Amy made a sad expression, “You don’t seem to like me”, the girl stood there speechless, “What Made you say that?!” the girl asked, “the truth is that no one really likes me, in school everyone bullies me, the throw paper balls at me, tease me, they don’t even like talking to me…. Everything just because I am a studious person, dull and not happy… I really tried, I tried to be friends with people but HONESTLY I DON’T HAVE ANY GOOD COMUNICATION SKILLS, no one ever gave me a chance to prove myself, everywhere I go I am the cornered up person… I don’t have anybody to tell my feelings pains or happiness” Amy said loudly, the girl smiled,

“hey look, I Din’t know about you, I just thought you are weird that’s all… you acted as if you were seeing magic for the first time” the girl said, [I don’t want to hide the truth anymore], Amy took a deep breath, “fine ,I don’t have any magic okay” Amy said flatly, the girl’s eyes widened, “WHAT?! YOU DON’T HAVE MAGIC?!”

“No” Amy said softly

“I’ll help you” the girl said softly, Amy looked at the surprised by her answer, and “Why……would…..you…..help….me? ” Amy asked softly, the girl smiled, “because I am your friend” she said, Amy smiled, “I’m Katerine Bluebell call me Katerine” she said, ‘I’m Amy… Amy Rose”,

Katerine nodded and looked at her wrist watch, “OH my god Look at the time we have only one hour left for the Welcoming ceremony!” Katerine yelled, Katerine ran into her room, Amy sat there without saying anything and watching her new friend hurry crazily into her room.

As Amy entered her dorm room, she was so surprised seeing her room, her room had a big bookshelf, a big cot, a big study table, a cupboard full of art supplies, a canvas on a stand on the other side and plain white walls left free to show her creativity, [looks like this university knows me from top to bottom], she smiled, “I have already started to like this place…. But the thing is that I won’t stay here that long there has to be some sort of mistake happening here, the management will probably kill me…. but let me enjoy the moments here because it is worth it” Amy said to herself, she went and opened her wardrobe, it had sets of uniforms, white shirts, skirts, blazers and cloaks, Amy took a warm shower and wore the uniform [these are so comfortable…]. Amy put her hair into a ponytail and wore comfy black flat shoes, given by Katerine .Amy went out of her room and sat reading a book.

Amy stopped reading further she din’t understand half of which was written, [What is an Elementist? What is Attunement? I don’t understand half of this written here, I seriously don’t know anything about this place… I think I should skip the Welcoming Ceremony and read in the library of this place, so I know what I am doing and at least be aware of what people are talking about here].

Katerine came out of her room, she saw the book on Amy’s lap and smiled, “Looks like you are reading…”

Amy looked up, “Not exactly, I am not understanding half of the things written here”

“Oh”

“But I am thinking of skipping the Welcoming Ceremony and sit in the library to know about your world”

“That’s good… the welcoming Ceremony is not that important, the Dean will just say few rules to follow in the campus, I’ll tell you about those rules at dinner”

“Thank You, Katerine! ☺”

Amy stood up, “Oh and one more thing come back to the dorm by 10:00, or else you would be stuck with detention” Katerine said, Amy nodded, and walked up to the dorm door, “where are you going?” Katerine asked, Amy turned, “To the library”

“Oh, yeah you don’t know about teleportation…”

[Teleportation?????!]                                          “What do you mean?”

Katerine walked forward and took mays hand and lead her to the third door.

“What are you doing Katerine?”

“This is a teleporting door, you can travel from one place to another using a teleporting… you just need to think of the place and step inside, Okay?

“Okaaay, ”

”Remember just one thing, be confident don’t be afraid”

Katerine opened the door, it was foggy and was covered with white smoke Amy looked at Katerine, “Don’t worry, just think your destination and enter with confidence, All right?”, Amy smiled and nodded, [The library], Amy closed her eyes and entered, a crushing feeling was experienced by Amy, she landed.

Amy was horrorstruck looking at her surroundings, it was a very big library where there were a lot of books, floors of books!!! , Amy looked around, [Cool! So many books!], she walked around the library and saw many books, and there were many students, like so many, “Looks like books, magic and playing are the only entertainment for students here” Amy mumbled to herself.

Amy set reading all the information of the magical world of Elementists, it was fun to read about the facts. Amy kept reading and reading, suddenly she felt a hand on her shoulder, Amy who was about to take a book about attunements jumped up, Amy looked behind, and it was a sort of an old age woman about 50 to 55 years old. Amy quickly kept the book on the table and stood up, “looks like you don’t notice your surroundings when you read” she said, Amy looked around all the bright lights were off except the one above Amy’s messy table, Amy smiled nervously,” I’m sorry… I just got lost, I am new here and I don’t know anything about the magical world… and when I arrived I was really unfamiliar with few terms which students use here, that is why I am reading here “Amy said, that

“You must be Amy Rose…”

“Yes, How—“

“I’m Elise Swan, Dean of the university” [oh my god! I am busted!!! Katerine told me to come for dinner! I totally lost track of time!!! I’m so dead!!!], Dean Swan smiled, “I can see that you are crying inside yourself” she said, “how did you know that?!” Amy asked surprised by Dean Swan’s perfect guess, Dean laughed, “Don’t worry I won’t give you detention”, Amy gave a big sigh of relief, Dean Swan smiled, Amy smiled back,  Dean Swan raised her hand and a golden smoke with golden sparkles surrounded her hand and she now held a golden card in her hand, Amy watched Dean Swan’s Magic in aw, “What is that” Amy asked calmly, “It is a card which would allow you into the restricted section of the library” She said, “But why would you give it to me?” Amy asked surprised, “so that you could gain some extra information when you are in a very atmost need” she said, “but I Din’t do anything“,“keep it as a reward” Dean Swan said, Amy shook her head, Dean Swan took Amy’s hand forcefully and kept the card on Amy’s palm and closed her fingers to it, “I can’t even do magic, I’m just useless, I don’t help anyone… and I am a disgrace to this university” Amy said looking a t the golden card, “you look down upon yourself a lot, Miss Rose… I would never give any person a place in this school if they are worth nothing… I find you extraordinary… ” Dean Swan said softly, “you trust me so much….. Even though I don’t have magic” Amy said sadly, “Who said you don’t have magic Miss Rose? ”, Amy looked at Dean Swan quickly “So you mean I have magic? ”, Dean chuckled, “Maybe” she said smiling naughtily, [God do I have MAGIC?!], “Yes you have magic Amy, you have powerful magic bundled up inside you” Dean Swan said, Amy looked at Dean Swan, Dean laughed, “You are a decent girl Miss Rose, remember you are capable of many things, you just have to believe in yourself… use the card wisely… see you” Dean said and started walking away, “She is really nice… she seems like a mother for me” Amy said whole heartedly, suddenly Dean Turned to Amy,  “Use it wisely Miss Rose… and always whatever happens in your life don’t lose hope” She said and walked away. Amy smiled, she felt as there was a spark of fire inside herself. Amy arranges all the books back into the shelves and went back to her dorm, it was 12:30. Amy felt exhausted and went to sleep.

“Amy are you ready?” Katerine asked, “Almost Katerine, Come in!, why are you standing outside” Amy said, “I actually particularly like fashion designing and make up… mom always says that I have a good sense of fashion”, “So, what are the things which you like?” Katerine asked Amy, “Me… I like reading. Like any genre, I read about everything... I particularly like, reading about the human body and how to treat it” Amy said Katerine smiled listening to Amy carefully.

“Then I like Painting—“

“Oh you paint?!What do you paint?!!!”

“Sceneries…portraits… actually I paint anything you give me… I’ve been painting like since I was 7... So I have some experience... in my school, my art teacher taught me all the methods of painting to me after school... I was particularly her favorite and she often told that I was a fast learner…”

Katerine was smiling and listening closely, “So what is today’s schedule Amy” Katerine asked, “Well breakfast, then something called Penn square and then Attunement…” Amy’s expression became sour “tests” she completed, “TODAY IS GOING TO BE FUN!!!!” Katerine said, [It is fun for you Katerine…you know magic hence you ca Attend that test… but me I don’t have magic! HOW AM I GONNA TAKE THAT TEST!!!], “Let’s go have breakfast!” Katerine said, Amy stood up and went out with Katerine.
