Chapter 17

Tasia The rest of the matches flew by as Tasia was lost in her mind. She kept replaying the events of her match over and over again, trying to figure out what it was that had Alpha Axel of all people submit to her. She wanted to enjoy her victory but it didn't feel like one. A true victory for an Alpha in a real fight would have been a direct defeat, not a show of empathy. Is that what that was? Tasia's wolf snarled in annoyance. They hated being pitied. There's no way Alpha Axel, the 7ft werewolf would show pity on Tasia, the "temporary" self-claimed Alpha of Fiorire Moon. "Hey" Thalia cooed as she slid herself into Tasia's lap. Tasia instantly wrapped her arms around Thalia to pull her in close. She noticed last night after they fell asleep together how thin and boney Thalia was In a not-so-healthy way. Unlike other Typical Alpha and Luna couples, Thalia wasn't that much smaller in comparison. Tasia had muscles and curves and stood a few inches taller than her fated. She was infatuated with every inch of her and desired to experience more. The mere thought had her wolf flashing inappropriate images in her mind causing her face to blush as she pushed the images away but made a mental note to think about them later. Tasia was getting ready to lean in for a kiss before she noticed Thalia's hesitation. Thalia Thalia could feel Tasia's inner turmoil about the match. Even she understood that victory no matter the circumstance was important to all alphas. A victory by submission can feel good or could feel like a slap to the face. In this case, there was no doubt Alpha Axel was superior in physical strength. But Tasia had her strengths that could have been the reason Axel submitted. But would Axel's rage-induced wolf have picked up on that? Being blind by rage often blocks all other senses. A memory tried to replay itself in her mind but was immediately vanquished by the thirsty thoughts of her wolf. Thalia felt shivers rush through her body as she focused on Tasia now realizing how close they were. She must have instinctively climbed into her lap to try and calm her mind but ended up thinking over the same thing she was. Come to think of it, her thoughts changed when Tasia's seemed to have changed. So the question is, what was she thinking about? She felt her cheeks burn hot as she had a few ideas. Their bodies being as close as they are and their faces being inches apart from each other had her wolf flashing very lewd photos in her mind. Thalia began to lean in closer until she was stopped right before their lips touched. For some reason, she was just now picking up the whispers that were floating around. Her body felt as if it completely froze and her heart was growing heavy listening to everyone around them. She managed to move her head to look around them. She caught glimpses of people staring and then averting their eyes as soon as they were spotted. She could still hear the words that were being said even though they kept their voices low enough that even your average wolf shouldn't have been able to hear. She thought maybe she was wrong about some people's mouths weren't moving but she could still hear what they were saying, but somehow she knew what words and whispers belonged to who. "That is just absurd, what was Moon goddess thinking?" "Maybe they are faking it for the attention" "I bet a witch is helping her, there's no way Alpha Axel would submit to anyone" "If it's all true they would never be able to have a proper heir. Fiorere moon would have been better off staying disbanded" "A propper pack needs a Male authority" "Moon Goddess would never make a pair as such. They aren't fit to be leaders." "Alpha Raymond and his Luna should have tried harder to have a legitimate heir" " Alpha Axel probably threw the match because he felt sorry for her" "They will be the laughing stock of the South" At this point Thalia was trembling in anger, her eyes were black and she could feel her fangs were elongating. If Tasia hadn't tightened her grip she would have been long gone, tearing into the closest wolf who dare to think or say such terrible things about her mate. She was an Alpha for christ's sake, was no one here besides the obvious on Tasia's side at all? "Little Rose.." Tasia cooed as she placed her hands on both sides of her cheeks to get her attention. Thalia blinked a few times before the fog of anger softened enough for Tasia to get through. Her cheeks felt a little wet, which meant this was the second time she cried in front of Tasia today. Tasia took both of her thumbs to wipe away her tears "Don't listen to them, my love. There's going to be a lot of people who will be against us. Especially me, They will see our union as unnatural even though same-s*x mating isn't unheard of" she said. "No, but it's still pretty rare. Did what they see during your match mean nothing?" Thalia questioned. "To them, yes. And thats alright. Let them think and feel what they want. Because all that matters is what we feel about each other" Tasia said. Thalia felt herself calm down a little bit. She was probably right, but then again Tasia has most likely had to deal with these nasty rumors for a long time. Thalia had hoped her pack members weren't like this. "That was cheesy and also familiar like someone might have told you the same thing a few days ago" Marcus chimed in as he sat down next to the both of them. Only this time Tasia was the one glaring at Marcus who chuckled at her reaction. "So, what they say about you doesn't bother you?" Thalia questioned, ignoring Marcuse's presence. Tasia shrugged her shoulders. "Sometimes, and I'd be lying if I said it didn't. But to be honest, I don't hear them anymore. Especially now that the most important thing in my life is sitting in my lap right now" she said with a genuine smile that made Thalia smile back almost instantly, causing Tasia to pull her in and press their lips together in a passionate kiss. "It's almost time for the Final Matches. Vincent and I won our matches, and our point scores seem like they are going to land us matching up against each other. We tied last year and both went up against Alpha Axel. I lasted longer in the ring with him than Vincent did" Marcus said. "TWO SECONDS LONGER" Vincent chimed in from where ever he appeared from with a petite, long, and curly-haired woman shuffling up next to him to keep up with his long strides. She must be his Luna. Her cheeks were flushed bright red and she seemed to be out of breath as she looked up at her mate with an annoyed look. He must have felt her gaze as he turned his attention to her with a softened look and reached up to tuck her hair behind her ears and bend down to plant a kiss on her forehead. "Mi dispiace tanto, Amore mio,"(I'm sorry, My Love) he said. "Sai che ho le gambe corte e non riesco a starti dietro!" (You know I have short legs and I can't keep up with you!) She said angrily as she stomped one foot. Thalia couldn't help to be amused at the sight of this adorable petite woman yelling at this big powerful alpha who became puddy in her hands instantly. Granite, she has no idea what she is even saying. "Come osi farlo a tua moglie incinta, che tipo di marito sei?" (How dare you do this to your pregnant wife, what kind of husband are you?) Tasia said through a chuckle as Vincent shot her a look. Thalia's thighs immediately clenched together at the sound of those words that rolled off her mate's tongue. This seemed to have caught Tasia's attention as she glanced down at Thalia's legs and slowly looked back up to her, letting her eyes trail up her body meeting her gaze with a raised eyebrow. "Oh, ti piace quella rosellina?" (You like that little rose?) Tasia said in a very low whisper with a slowed tone causing Thalia to casually shove her hands between her thighs. "Riesco a sentire il battito del tuo cuore tra le tue cosce" ( I can feel your heartbeat between your thighs) she added as she leaned in to talk directly into her ear. "Im not sure what you're saying but I believe you two need to get a room," Marcus said as he rolled his eyes making Tasia chuckle in amusement looking at Thalia with a look wondering if they should take him up on his advice. It was obvious by Vincent's bright red face that he was the only one that knew what Tasia was saying to Thalia, Molly looked up at him quizzically but Vincent just shook his head at her to insinuate it was best she didn't know. "Is that Italian?" Thalia finally asked after giving herself a moment to gather her bearings. Tasia nodded. "I apologize for not assuming" Thalia began but Tasia brushed off her apology. "My mother was Italian and the only one in our pack at the time. She taught me the language but I lost her at a young age. As I grew up my accent isn't as noticeable anymore. Vincent tends to bring that side out of me the more he's around" She said. "che potrebbe essere una buona cosa per te." (Which might be a good thing for you) She said with a wink. "On that note" Thalia started as she pushed herself out of Tasia's lap to stand before her, holding out her hand. "Let's go get you ready for your next match and see who you are up against. We have a lot of people to prove wrong today." She said with a determined smile. Tasia seemed disappointed with Thalia moving away from her but took her hand without hesitation and allowed her to pull her up. "Actually, Thalia I was kind of wondering if you wouldn't mind hanging back a bit with Molly? She insisted on coming to watch the matches but I feel like she needs some more rest. And she refuses to let me withdraw to be with her." Vincent asked followed by Molly slapping him on the chest in protest. "I'll be fine. This isn't my first pregnancy. Let her be with her mate!" Molly demanded. Vincent did watch over Thalia in the infirmary for Tasia, She should repay the favor. She couldn't deny the fact she felt nervous about not being around someone she knows even though realistically she has only known her mate for a little over a day. She was going to have to get used to being around a lot more people now and learn to trust them. "Actually I don't mind. I could use the practice..with...socializing" she said awkwardly with a smile trying to cover up the nerves. She must have done a horrible job considering the soft look Molly gave her followed by a bright smile of her own making Thalia feel a little more comfortable, Not to mention the reassuring squeeze Tasia gave her to tell her it would be alright. "I change my mind. It's nice to finally have another Luna around I can get to know. Being the only Human in our pack makes it a little lonely sometimes without having my friends close by any more" she said. Vincent looked down at her with a worried look on his face. Molly seemed to sense this as she leaned up to give him a quick kiss on his cheek. "By that I mean not having another close girlfriend I can vent to about the times you piss me off," she said with a wink. Thalia laughed at what Molly said before Tasia brought her in for a last kiss. The three made their way over to the tent to see the final rankings, Thalia couldn't help but notice Tasia's worried feelings after they studied the board. The sound of Molly clearing her throat brought Thalia's attention back to her. Molly seemed to have made her way over to sit next to Thalia while she was stuck in her thoughts. "I'm sorry Molly, I got a little distracted there," Thalia said with another nervous smile making Molly laugh this time. "It's normal for you to be that way. You just met your mate, all of the feelings are so new and overwhelming. They don't fade. You just get used to them, and the hardest part is being out of touching distance. Especially in stressful situations." Molly added with a pointed look. "That noticeable, huh?" Thalia said slumping back into her seat a little bit. "Again I believe it's normal. I would never admit this out loud to Vincent, but I hate these things. I can't bear the idea of him being in any kind of fight whether it be for fun or real. But for Tasia, unfortunately, this isn't for fun. This is to make a point. And who knows who else might feel the same" She said. Thalia felt like her stomach was going to drop out of her body. She never thought of it like that. What if whoever she goes up against makes it a point to hurt Tasia more than making sure she doesn't win? By the look on Molly's face, it was evident Thalia was showing her emotions again. "I shouldn't have said that I'm so sorry. I'm good at saying the worst things at the wrong time" Molly said in a panic. "It's okay, I know you meant no harm. I appreciate your understanding of my feelings. It's nice to not feel alone in this because you are right. This isn't a game for Tasia. It's real for her. And it's real for me too." Thalia said confidently with a nod of her head.
