Eavesdropping Doesn’t Pay
Annabel beckoned Elizabeth to follow as she made a terrible over show of nonchalance. Watching, Elizabeth couldn’t help but see an older version of the children that had caught their attention. She snickered taking care to not let Annabel hear her laughing at her.
As they reached the greenery that bordered the yard within Annabel pulled Elizabeth down to hunch beside her. Carefully Annabel parted the leaves as the two of them leaned forward for a better view. They watched as chaos fell before their eyes. The children were moving around randomly with what appeared to be no purpose. If the words could have been decipherable it all might have made some sense.
