Jenny gave Elizabeth a ride home from Agnes’s house. She told her there wasn’t anything else she was doing while waiting to take her great aunt back after her ‘appointment’. She would have invited Jenny inside when they reached her house but there were things that she needed to figure out.
Thanking her friend for the lift Elizabeth stood in the drive waving goodbye. Her thoughts turned to the events of the day as she stared out at the willow trees that surrounded her property. It was fairly quiet for a change signally that the construction crew had left for the day. With the project nearly finished their workdays were getting shorter.
