CHAPTER 5
The days and the weeks went by. Michael and Sheridan spent endless hours together. Sometimes they read poetry aloud to each other. Other times, they snuggled up and read silently. As they became more at ease with touching each other, their kisses became more intimate; deeper and longer and wilder. This strained Michael's self-control—and his boxers—but he wouldn't have traded it for anything.
One weekend, towards the beginning of October, Michael realized his relationship with Sheridan had lasted a month already. He wanted to mark the milestone in some way, and he had a pretty good idea of what she would like most. It's scary as hell, but also the right thing to do. Besides, it still irks me that my shyness forced Sheridan to swallow her pride and ask me out.
