After Nina has succumbed to fatigue completely—aided by another glass of whiskey—I shower and make my way to the shop. I find Kay sorting through a delivery of breakfast bars and, instantly, my stomach starts rumbling. My insides tied in too many knots by Nina’s sudden appearance, I didn’t touch any of the food I laid out for breakfast.
