Will held his hand out flat. The apple contained in his palm was snagged quickly by the mare. Duff had been his favorite when he arrived on the ranch. The stallion had always been the gentlest of horses, never showing any signs of temper. He was getting on in years now. So Will snuck him a second apple. His good deed done for the day, he turned.
