The young boy grabs my hand and we walk to a secluded area and sit down. I was there. I saw it happen. I tried to save him. I told him he shouldn't go. He wouldn't listen. Whoa, whoa slow down. I tell the kid. start over. What do you mean you saw it. The shark the boy said I watched it bite my brothers leg off then come back and bite him again and again. Even though everyone was trying to fight it off. It, it just wouldn't stop. He should have never been there. He died because of me. I'm the one that told him. But I told him not to go. I just didn't want to see anyone else die like my sister. I never knew it would be him and because of me. The boy the ran away in tears. Later I heard from other locals how Tim saw a bunch of kids swimming at the beach just days after his sister was eaten. So he ran and told his brother. His brother went to the beach and when yelling couldn't get there attention he waded out in the water to tell them to get out of the water. He escorts them in while staying to the back. Out of nowhere a big bull shark comes and grabs his leg removing it in one bite. They were in a little over waist deep water. After what seemed like a long fight with a relentless 10 ft bull shark they got him back to shore. But sadly after he died from blood loss. Little Tim could only watch as he lost his second sibling in just 3 days to sharks. But come on. As crazy as that all is. Shark attacks are extremely rare. I didn't come here to for this. I came for SURFING I came for Yuta! And in 2 days time I will be going watch him catch the waves right before my very eyes! So enough of the dark Gloomy. Yuliya Islands here I come!
Chapter 2
The day has finally come. Yes. Yesterday was an amazing day finally getting to meet with Yuta. Getting to know him and how much he loves surfing and the ocean. I've spent all this time reading about this kid and looking at pictures. But getting to know this young man is a real treat. His handsome and smart. Witty center of attention. I mean people literally flock to him. And this is without his surfing. OMG you add that and this guy is a freaking super star set to take over the world. He has an amazing beautiful GF he has been dating since believe it or not 3rd grade. Cute right. He uses his succes to help the Islands he grew up on. He says this is his home and his dream is that one day everyone will see it and the amazing people on it. A great guy. His gf Stacy has gone to every single event. In fact she usually gets herself on on of the boats that watches the surfers so she can have the best view and so he can hears her cheer him on. Great people. I get to the beach the place is packed. I mean people everywhere. Seems like word may have gotten out that Yuta will be practicing here today! I make my way to Yuta. he is gearing up. I notice one of the other surfers gives Yuta this braclet for his ankle. He puts it on. I ask what is that. He replys it's a Shark repellent of sorts. It Emits a small electric field to detour sharks. Oh wow smarts I say. That boy creeps into my mind, so I casually ask why do you need that thing is there a danger of sharks!!? Yuta looks at me and simply smiles. It's the ocean bro, what do you think? I look him and laugh back right of course. Then I grab his arm, but seriously there is nothing to worry about right? I look at him then look at all the surfers and swimmers heading to the sea with no shark guard. He grabbed my hand and pulled me towards him and said. Nothing to worry about bro. I'm simply helping a sponser by wearing this. The water is safe it's gonna be a great day come on! Stacy grabs my other hand and we head to the beach. Just like the the shadow of sharks disappears from my mind. We get to the water and it's amazing. The waves are incredible. But Yuta and the things he can do on that water are.... I don't have words. At first the was like 100 people surfing. But I swear the way this guy and his team surfs. It literally shut the beach down. Next thing you know we are getting to bear witness to a friendly competition amongst the island's greatest local talents. It was amazing its like the ocean and island joined in to the great spectacle. Out of nowhere giant waves started to come in. The competition ended up getting serious. Everyone out trying to prove the could beat the unseemingly unbeatable and Yuta. The day winds down and the crowd dies down. This is when the big waves come in. Now only the best of the best dare to catch these waves. The cameramen move to the cliffs and some stay on boat to shoot the spectacle. The suns beaming just right. The water looks amazing. This is what I came for this is surfing island life at its best. It's a perfect moment. That's what I thought. Right before I had to see the worst thing I'd ever see.
Chapter 3
Yuta is doing his thing dominating these massive waves. Most of the other surfers already got out of the water intimidated by the huge waves. Only Yuta and a few other experienced surfers stay out. An enormous wave comes I start recording. This wave is massive. Yuta takes a wrong angle. The wave curls over him. He disappears before shortly re-emerging. His surfboard pops up in the distance. Everyone breaths a sigh of relief. I smile and start recording again as Yuta starts to swim towards his board. Then like a scene out of a horror movie, it happens out of nowhere. Suddenly it looks like Yuta raises out of the water like he's just starting to fly out of the water. My eyes don't register what it is they are seeing. But I remember it so well it haunts my thoughts. Teeth. Grey and white. Then this enormous crash like a train wreck. I throw my camera down and run to the edge of the water. The water calms. s**t. I can see Yuta. he's moving. crying. The water is so red. Yuta is swimming really strange. Look at that f*****g boat. It's right next to him. Help him for God's sake. But there faces say it all. I look at Yuta that's when I notice he's barley moving he's he's been bitten in half f**k I can see his insides coming out. Tears fill my eyes I whimper Yuta. As I do the boat gets close enough for Yuta to raise his hand. Out of nowhere The man in the Grey suit returns for his prize. Yuta and the shark disappear and despite relentless searching he nor the shark was ever seen again. His Gf was on that boat. She was the extended hand Yuta reached for. She hasn't spoken to since. What the f**k. What the f**k did I just see. That can't be real. A f*****g shark just ate that kid right in front of me and thousands of others on the beach. He said there was nothing to worry about. He was wearing a shark bracelet. No. No this can't be happening. Days went by before I could even talk to anyone. I mean how do you get over it. The islands now changed from the happy place it was. To this dark place, locals furious because of another shark attack. They claim the government knows about the sharks. This is where my story changes. I find myself somehow tangled in the shark attack clusters of Shark Beach
