Craig’s heart raced as he buried his face in Liz’s neck. God, he loved this woman and he wasn’t afraid to say it. Not anymore. He kissed her neck. “Liz...”
“Let’s eat.” She dropped her legs from around his waist.
He moaned as he withdrew from her. He’d stay buried deep inside her if she’d let him. She gave him a gentle push on the chest and he stepped back.
She straightened her nightgown as she walked to the counter and grabbed two plates. “Some of everything?”
“Liz, we need to talk.” He didn’t want to eat. They needed to get things settled between them.
“Please, Craig.” She smiled but there were tears in her eyes. “Can’t we just have Christmas, like we had Christmas Eve.”
