For a few long seconds, Vincent said absolutely nothing. He just stood there staring at the screen of my phone while the words glowed between us.

My breathing turned uneven immediately. My fingers trembled badly around the phone while my heart pounded so hard it physically hurt.
This was it. After all these years, after all the misunderstandings, after every painful moment between us, the truth was finally standing right in front of him.
But instead of shock…Instead of realization…Vincent laughed. The sound was low at first, almost like he genuinely couldn’t believe what he had just read. Then slowly, the amusement disappeared and irritation replaced it completely.
“Don’t make me laugh,” he muttered coldly.
