Chapter Fourteen

1746 Words
I sat across Kyle and his cast as we waited for his mum. He refused to talk to me after what happened in the bowling ally. Luckily, it was only a slight case of sprained ankle; it was casted up to make sure he has a healing process goes smoothly in order for him to play by the third game of the season. Luke and everyone else already left after Kyle came out to the waiting room. He offered to drive us home but Kyle refused to get into a car with him nor talking to anyone at all. Instead, he just called his mum to come pick us up from the hospital, then called his couch to let him on the bad news; he didn’t receive it well, I could hear his angry tone all the way across that hall way. I felt guilty, it was partly my fault for him getting hurt. If I hadn’t insisted on making him tag along with us, none of this would have happened in the first place. We both knew that, it was the reason why he didn’t speak to me at all. When his mum got here, Kyle sat in the passenger seat in complete silence making me the one to respond to his mum’s questions about what happened. He was pretty quiet the whole time other than when his mum said that she would cancel her flight to go see his dad. “I can catch a flight next month” she said “Someone has to stay and take care of you” “Couch insisted that I get one of the boys to help me out with everything these next two weeks” he said “I already asked Dan to stay over for the next few days” She parked in front of the house. When she opened her mouth to speak, Kyle made his way of the car on his crushers.  His mum let out a sigh before she leaned back against the seat “This boy is just a pain in my ass these days” She said “It’s like he’s hitting puberty all over again” I gave her an apologetic smile “I’m sorry, it’s mostly my fault. I sorta pressured him into getting long with the Luke and his friends. He’s not a big fan of my new relationship” She rested his head against the steering wheel then stayed silent for a couple of seconds before speaking up again “Can you keep an eyes on him and help him out despite what’s going on right now?” She asked “He will need help getting around until Daniel is here” I nodded “Of course” I said before opening the door. I was about to exit the car when she spoke again “And Kimberly” she said looking me dead in the eyes “No parities. I will see you in a week” I nodded “Have a safe trip” “Thank you!” She smiled. I watched her car drive down the road then made my ways in the house once her car was out of sight. Kyle was leaning against the against the wall on the staircase, he only made it three steps up the staircase. It was apparent that he needed help getting up there with the cast. “Do you want me to set up the couch?” I asked “It’s be easier to sleep downstairs” He shook his head. “Okay” I said. I made my way up the staircase to him. He didn’t fight me back when I took his arm and put it around my shoulder before wrapping mine around his waist and helped him up the stairs and on to his bed. I looked around the dark room before turning to him “Do you want to take a shower? Or wash your hair?” I asked “I can run you a bath instead?” He didn’t say anything, he kept his eyes trained to his cast. “You don’t need to reply” I told him “It’s fine” After filling the tub with warm water, I ran downstairs to grab a plastic bag. Kyle didn’t move at all, nor did he when I started slip his cast into the plastic bags and securing it with tape. Gently, I helped off his bed and into the bathroom where he sat on the edge of the tub. I didn’t think it the whole way through. I didn’t think about the part where I will have to help him get his jeans off. But we were already here and I didn’t want to make things more awkward then they already are, so I pretended that this is normal. After closing off the water, I helped him remove his shirt before I kneeled down and started took off his socks and shoes. My heart was beating out of my chest when it came time for the pants. In silence he undid his jeans and moved it half way down before I started to try and slip it over the cast. I could get my eyes to move up now that he was in his boxers, this was intimate and my guts told me to look up because of the slim chances of seeing a hard on. In attempt to not look where I was avoided, my eyes quickly moved to his face instantly meeting his. His face was flushed as he watched me. His chest seemed to moving faster than usual. “I can do that part myself” he mumbled before looking away. I stood and helped him up again “Or you can keep it till after and I can help wash your hair and stay” I said “I put the bathtub tray and you can prop your leg on it just to make sure no water gets through” “Okay” he mumbled. Kyle was easily two sizes bigger than me, he was really heavy to move around, it took all my strength not to fall into the bathtub when I lowered him in there with his leg hanging on the edge before I place the bathtub tray under it. Taking a seat next to his head on the bathtub, I took the shower head and started to wet his hair before working in the shampoo. As I worked the shampoo with my finger tips, he leaned his head back toward my hand with his eyes closed. It was the most peaceful I have ever seen him, and this was the most intimate we’ve gotten ever other than the time we made out of the kitchen counter. “You shouldn’t be in here with me, Kimberly” he said “Your stupid boyfriend sure wouldn’t like the idea of you giving me a shower while I’m practically fully naked and considering my feeling for you” “Why do you do that?” I asked frustrated “Why do you always have to be mean like that to him? He is trying his best to make peace with you for my sake” He chuckled “And why on earth would he do that? Doesn’t he know how I feel about you?” He said. “Of course not” I told him before sighing in attempt to get my temper under control “Look, I’m really sorry for everything that happened to day. I didn’t mean for you to get hurt. All I wanted was for you and Luke to get along so I don’t have to choose between you two” “You sure did that quickly when we walked into that bowling ally” he pointed out “You literally spend the whole time being clingy and giving all your attention to him. It was as if I was even there” “Stop acting like a jealous boyfriend” I told him “You don’t get to do that. You throw me away every time you have a new girl on your lap. It’s not fair. Why do you get to spend all your time with girls and judge me for neglecting you when you do much worst for me. I am sitting here and helping you instead of being with him right now aren’t I?” He rolled his eyes “You know I would have done the same for you. I would drop the world to come to your help if you needed me too” he said “And I don’t recall asking for your help at any point today. You’re the one that took liberty to do all of this” “Of course, you never needs help” I said as I got up “You can call whoever you’re f*****g right now and they would gladly run to the rescue” I rinsed my hands in the sink “f*****g hell, Kyle. I’m just trying to help you here. I am trying to apologies despite this not being my fault. Can you just appreciate the fact that I am going out of my way to make things easier for you without having to be such an asshole” I said. “I don’t need to appreciate things that I didn’t ask for” he fired back. “Fine” I said angrily “Then you can finish this on your own since you don’t need my help” Not waiting for a response, I stormed out of the bathroom in anger. He didn’t have to crawl out of the bathroom on his own. Dan was there to help him out; I pumped into him on the way out the bathroom after my screaming match with Kyle. They chilled in his bedroom while I snuck out of the house to for a quick run to relieve my stress and the burning anger that was growing in my chest.
