“Louis!!... Louis!!” Julieta screamed out his name as she rose from the bed.
Her body began to shake, she didn't know where to go from there.
“A sixteen-year-old Princess lost in an unknown place, is this going to be my story?” She wondered in her thoughts.
She carried up her gown tail and dragged her feet into her slippers, she sighed and rushed outside.
Her mouth opened in disbelief, she looked around and focused her gaze back at what was before her. She was astonished to see Louis cleaning the saddle.
“Did you not hear me scream your name?” She said as she stepped forward.
“Do I look like one of your subjects?” He asked, not turning to her.
She remained silent for a while, she bit her lips, not knowing what to say.
He dropped the rags at a corner and picked up a stool, he carried the stool as Julietta watched him dropping it beside the horse.
With a swift motion, he swung onto the horse's back and winked at her.
“Come on, we don't have the time!”
She nodded and stepped forward, she climbed on the stool and climbed on the horse. She wrapped her arms around his waist, holding him so tight and he rode out.
After a few hours, Louis and Julietta were before the fallen gate.
The men who were lifting the gate recognized the princess.
“Princess Julieta,” one of them called out.
Louis rode into the palace where they were astonished to see the shattered windows, pierced by arrowheads.
Louis got down off the horse and lifted her down, her eyes and mouth were widely opened in shock.
She looked around, the ashes and smoke in the surroundings made her wonder if her father was still alive.
Just then, some guards rushed out of the building, bowing their heads.
“Princess Julieta, you're home, the king will be pleased.” He said and looked at Louis.
“He saved my life,” Julietta responded.
The guard nodded and directed them into the palace.
The moment they got to the throne room, they moved closer to the king who was sitting on his throne in the middle of two standing guards and bowed their heads.
“Father,” she called out.
The king stood up and walked to her, he wrapped his arms around her and then looked into her eyes, holding her jaw.
“The heavens saved your life for one purpose, Revenge.” He went back to his seat.
Julieta looked around her confused, “I don't understand.”
“Your brothers Carlos and Mateo are dead, Diego is bedridden and you will sail to England today.”
Her eyes snapped open, she struggled to catch her breath.
“Carlos...Mateo...no, no, no…” she whispered, her voice trembling.
The king clenched his right fist and pointed his left finger at her. “You're not allowed to mourn until they've been avenged!!” He paused and gazed at Louis, “And who are you?”
“He saved the Princess's life,” the guard responded.
“Oh I see,” he looked at the guard at his right-hand side, the guard bent his ear to him and he whispered something to him.
The guard bowed and departed.
Tears fell from Julietta's eyes, she bit her lips and she sobbed. Hearing the demise of her brothers was devastating to her.
Louis glanced at her, his face became pale. He wanted to comfort her but couldn't. He threw his gaze at the king, he looked at him from head to toe, trying to sense any werewolf features.
“He has anger issues, a normal trait of a Werewolf but then, any man who lost his sons should be angry but what's the princess' purpose in England?” He wondered in his thoughts.
“I want to speak to my mother,” she said, sobbing.
The king sighed and narrowed his eyes. The princess stepped forward, her heart beating faster.
“Where is the queen?!!”
The guard returned with a bag and handed it over to Louis.
“That's your reward for bringing my daughter back home safely.”
“Thank you, Your Majesty,” Louis said and bowed his head.
The king clenched his fist and hit it on the handle of his seat. “Your accent is French!!”
He looked around, unable to utter a word. Julieta panicked, not knowing what to do.
“Seize him!!” The king commanded.
“Father, please, he is not French!!”
The king nodded, his jaw clenched. “What is your name, young man?”
Louis remained silent for a while before he finally spoke, “Louis Roux.”
“French!!”
Julietta turned him and beat his chest, “All you had to do was say a Spanish name,”
“My name is my identity.”
A guard dragged the princess out of the way and tried seizing Louis. Louis in defense used the bag filled with coins and splashed his guard's face. When the guard got distracted by the pain on his face, he dragged the guard's sword and pointed it at the guards trying to attack him.
“Father, please! He is not the enemy. I saw him slay French men to save my life.” She pleaded, with her knees facing the floor.
The guards attacked him and he clenched his swords with one and flung the bag on another, he immediately ran his sword through the chest of another.
“Louis!! Please, we've lost enough already.” Julieta said.
Louis looked at her and suddenly dropped the sword and bag on the floor. The guards got closer and dragged him out.
As he was being dragged out, he remembered the mission his father sent him on.
“Find the one called Elena Lopez, she works in the court,” his father's words echoed in his mind.
Werewolves lived in France for centuries but king Charles of France felt threatened by their presence and betrayed the truce his forefathers upheld.
The Alpha, Louis's father, believed the witches helped the French in forging weapons that could kill werewolves. That made him believe that the witches also wanted Werewolves eradicated.
“We cannot stay in Spain if there's a possibility that their crown has a witch, I will not endanger the lives of my people again, you cannot forget the plan” the words whispered in his mind as he was thrown into the dungeon.
The guards locked up the prison gates, thinking it would hold him there. What they didn't know was that being locked up was part of Louis's plan.
