Almost 2 years. 2 whole years, I’ve known. It has been nearly impossible to stay away from her. I don’t want this. I don’t want to be an alpha that relies on his mate. I want to be a lone alpha. I'm almost as strong as a lone wolf. All I need is to reject her and I’ll get stronger.

The bell for lunch rings and takes me away from my thoughts. I quickly grab my things and head to the lunch room. I don’t know what’s going to happen when she finds out. What if she tries to make me stay? I can’t let that happen. I need to think of a way to make her hate me more.

I walk into the lunch room and look around. I see Jax and Skyler at our usual table and the cheer team next to their table. Perfect if I hook up with one of them, she should be able to feel it now. She’ll barge in on it and that should send her over the edge.

I walk up to Jessica, a beautiful freshman who is in the same art class as me and leaned in close to her ear. “Hey Beautiful,” I say in a low, gravelly voice. I gently grab her hand to make her stand up “I need help with Miss Cindy's project this week. Do you mind coming to help?” I play with her hair a little as I look down at her. She basically melts in my hands as she nods in agreement and I take her hand and walk her out of the cafe.

We start heading towards the bathrooms right next to the cafe when she stops. I turn around and gently ran my hand through her hair. “OK, maybe I lied, you're just so beautiful. I was hoping I would be able to take you to the game tomorrow? Then we can hang out after you’re done cheering or whatever?” I slowly snake my hands to her waist and slowly back her up against the wall. Unfortunately, we're not going to make it to the bathroom, so a heavy make-out session will have to do and maybe she will walk by.

As her back hits the wall, she wraps her arms around my neck and I press my body against hers. “Is it like a date?” she giggles.

I bring my lips close to hers and inhale, slightly smelling Ashley on her, they must have hugged recently. “It can be whatever you want it to be darling.” I softly growl, trying to get her to cave.

She licks her lips and nods and that's my queue. I softly press my lips against hers and she melts into me. I press my body against hers and run my tongue along her bottom lip hoping to gain entry. She slightly parts her lips and allows me to do as I please.

I can hear footsteps behind us and then her scent hits me; Vanilla and Strawberries. I can feel my wolf fighting to gain control but I push him back. It's getting harder and harder to fight him. I start kissing her rougher causing a moan to escape from her lips.

“Ew get a room asshole,” I hear her say, it caused Jessica to jump away from me. Boom caught.

“Jessica! Go back to the lunch room before you get in trouble! Cai! What the f**k is wrong with you? It’s like you're trying to get all the girls kicked off the team.” She yells. It was quite loud. I can tell her wolf is with her right now.

“I’m so sorry, Ashley, it won't happen again,” Jessica says with her head low in submission. She runs into the cafe, leaving me to deal with one angry b***h.

“Look, I’m just trying to enjoy my youth, I’m currently in my prime and I gotta have fun, right?” I smirked at Ashley as I walked towards her. She starts backing up, looking at me like I’m a rabid animal. Maybe I am, because I truly don’t know why I’m doing this.

Her back hits the wall and I put my arm above her head, inhaling her scent deeply. I feel my wolf going crazy.

Mate.. Mate…Mate……MATE he screams. I continued to try to suppress him as I ran my hand up her arm, I could feel the sparks and the warmth from the mate connection. “So what do you say, princess, want to have some fun?” I’m very grateful her parents never told her how to find her mate, they didn’t want her to get distracted with finding him or her early like with some wolves.

Her eyes closed for a moment. I can tell she likes this. s**t that's not what I meant to happen. I wanted her to call me gross and push me away like usual.

Before I can think of anything else, her eyes snap open, she shoves me away from her harder than she ever has before and walks into the cafe without saying anything. I hope that works. I hope she's even more disgusted with me. I hope when she finds out I’m her mate that she agrees to go through the rejection process. I headed back into the cafe and sat with the guys. Jax and Skyler both nod in approval and Klye shakes his head.

"You're going to give my sister an aneurism bro." Kyle says as he shovels food into his mouth.

"nah 2 I think your sister will be just fine. She's f*****g hot and strong. She'll just kick 4's ass." Jax laughs as he eats the slice of pizza he got.

I ball my hands into fists at the mention of him calling her hot. Wait, why do I even care? I'm going to reject her and that will be that. I'll rule my pack better than my dad did thanks to the alpha training me and once I'm a lone wolf I'll gain the rest of my strength.
