I’m honestly tired of fighting, she needs to know the truth. It's not that I don't think she’ll be a good Luna, in fact, I’m positive she’ll make a great luna. I just know I'll be stronger without her, without the constant worry about whether she's OK.

"I was honestly just done with everything at that moment and I just wanted a release. I know that is not an excuse, but it's the truth. If you're mad because I don't want you as my mate, that is fine, but you have to understand why," I said as I sat on the floor. It's now or never to have this conversation with her. She looks at me like I just grew three heads as she sits down.

"Look, it's not that I don't think you'll be a good Luna. I think you'll be a great Luna. I personally just think I'll be better off on my own. I'll be even stronger for my pack and I'll be able to give my full attention to my pack. If I have a mate with me, I won't be able to focus on my pack and then the same damn thing is going to happen. The pack is going to be attacked and I won't be able to protect it." I sighed. "I just want to make sure I'm a better Alpha than my father was. I just want to make sure my pack is safe, and that means not having a mate."

There was a long pause, she continued to stare at me like I was an alien. I've never been this vulnerable with anyone.

"Are you f*****g stupid?" she asked.

"What?"

She starts laughing, "Are you actually that f*****g stupid?"

"You know what Ashley, f**k you dude. I tried to talk to you and to let you down easily, but you have to be a f*****g b***h about it." I laughed in return. "I'm glad I rejected you, I don't need a b***h ruining my pack!" I yelled.

"You realize your theory isn't going to work, right?" She questioned, standing up. "You're not going to get stronger because you reject your mate, your going to get weaker. You and your pack are going to suffer." She started to walk away. "Oh and news flash dumbass, I didn't want to be with you to begin with. I actually hate that we're mated. You are a lowlife, an asshole, and I honestly don't know what diseases you have and I don't want to find out." with that she walked out the door back to her house.

I slumped back so now I'm lying on the floor. I'm filled with rage and sadness. I know when I take over my pack I will still have an alliance with this pack. I was also hoping to have an alliance with Ashley's new pack after she finds her new mate. I don't think that will happen now. That's fine. I know my pack will be able to stand up for ourselves if her new pack decides to attack.

Ashley

I walked back into my bedroom and slammed the door shut, thankfully my mom isn't there still. What is his problem? Why is he so hell bent on being a lone wolf? What happened to his parents is tragic. Yes, but if it weren't for them finding each other, his pack would have been dead a long time ago. I don't think he understands how most packs hunt hellhounds because of how strong they are. As it stands right now, we are the strongest wolves in the area. Hell probably the whole country. His father's pack was always right beside us until the attack.

"ugh!" I floped down on my bed and looked at the time. Great, it's now 4am and I have to be up by at least noon to get ready for the game and hopefully still be awake enough for the dance tomorrow night. Usually the game is on Friday, but because it was our big birthday, my dad managed to get the game moved so we could have a proper party.

Cai wrapped his arm around me while we were sitting in my bed.

"pay attention to the movie loser," I giggle as I snuggle in closer to him.

He leans in and whispers in my ear, "Its hard to pay attention when I have a goddess right next to me."

He gently and slowly started to kiss my neck, I tilted my head back and let out a soft moan. "That's not fair because I've been wanting to see this movie, you know that." I said.

He continues to kiss my neck until he reaches the tender spot where there should be a mark and gently bites. I let out another soft moan and melted into his arms. A smile spread across his lips as he slowly started to push me down onto the bed. Once I was flat on the bed, he softly pushed my legs apart with his knee and settled between them as he began to kiss my neck again. He let his hands explore my body as he trailed kisses from my neck to my lips. I ran my hands through his hair and pulled softly. A deep groan escaped his lips, "Better be careful princess." His eyes were clouded with lust.

"Oh ya?" I said in a bratty tone. "Or else what?" I whispered in his ear.

He let out a deep growl and sat up slightly to rip off my shirt. He began to attack my chest with kisses and love bites. I moan with each bite as I try to pull off his shirt. "Off," I demand.

He pulls his shirt off in a hurry and I run my hands down his perfectly sculpted abs. He began to kiss me as he slid a hand between my legs and began to rub my core through my pants. His bulge is basically bursting out of his pants. I undoed his pants as he began to rub me faster. I can't handle it anymore. I feel like I'm about to release. "Don't stop," I plead.

He continues and I'm right on the edge.

BEEP.... BEEP.... BEEP....

I shoot straight up in bed, I'm panting and sweating.

"What the f**k was that for?" I scold my wolf.

"He's mate and I wanted to make sure you saw how good it could be." She sounded sad.

"I know you want to be with your mate but he doesn't want us and I don't want him. I'm very sorry." I apologize.

She whimpers and leaves. When she's upset with me, she goes somewhere deep so I cant reach her, but she always comes back if I'm in trouble. I stretched my body and looked at the time 11:30. I woke up to my first alarm, which was amazing. That means I can eat breakfast. I walk down the stairs to the kitchen and pull a cup from the cabinet to make myself some coffee when I notice the door to the basement is open. They must be talking to Cai to see if he's calmed down at all. After taking a few sips of coffee, I start making eggs and toast.

From the basement comes a huge crash and growling. It sounds like maybe Cai hasn't calmed down yet. If he doesn't, he's not going to be let out anytime soon.

"I need mate!" I heard Cai growl. Which means that his wolf is in control again. "I can smell her. She needs me!"

What does he mean he can smell me? I sniffed myself to see if there was anymore perfume on me from last night and I didn't smell anything. My dad's beta comes running up the stairs looking panicked. His eyes landed on mine, "You need to go upstairs and shower before he breaks out of the cage." He tried to pull me up the stairs and I tried to keep up with him.

"Why what's happening?" I said, feeling my own panic level rise.

"He can smell your arousal," he said.
