Cai I have no control anymore, my wolf has taken full control and wants to fix everything. I don’t want this. I don't understand why we can’t be on the same page. As soon as I walk through the door, I get ambushed by Kyle and Sklyer. They put me in reinforced hand cuffs and started walking me towards the cages. The cages are for out-of-control wolves, wolves that have just lost their mates, wolves that fight for full power to become alpha, and they’re also used to keeping rouges for questioning. “Let me go.” He lets out a low warning growl. Kyle laughs, “not today, my friend, alpha's orders are to lock you up for a bit.” I started trying to break free. My wolf wants to go check on her and to comfort her. Kyle grips harder, I honestly didn’t know he was this strong. It doesn’t hurt, but I know I wont be able to break away easily. I fight for control again and manage to gain enough to just follow them into the cage and I lose it again when they lock it. "Let me out," he screamed. "Dude no, listen to yourself. Your wolf is in full control right now. I don't know what your going to do. I love you 4 but we're not letting you out." Kyle says sadly. I start thrashing around trying to find any weak spots in the cage. It's hard to do, still being cuffed, but my wolf is working around it. "Dude, you need to stop. They're not going to let us out." I tried talking to my wolf. "You hurt mate, I need to make sure she's OK!" He screamed at me. "I'm honestly sure she's fine. After the rejection process is over, you wont even have to worry about her anymore." I told him. "No rejection!" He screamed out. Ashley I woke up in my bed with a pounding headache. To be honest, I don’t even know what happened. I looked at my phone to check the time; 2 am. I hear a light knock at my door before it opens. My mom pads into my room and softly smiles at me. “Hey sweetheart,” she sits down next to me, “How are you feeling?” she asks. “Dazed and confused to be honest. What happened?” I asked softly while rubbing my head. "I don't think you want to know sweetie," my mom said while smiling sadly at me. I pushed her hand away softly, "Tell me please, am I sick? Am I going to die?" I started panicking, looking all around my room and body for obvious signs of injury. She begins to laugh, a whole-hearted laugh, the type of laugh that you would hear at a comedy club. I looked at her confused and still panicking as she shook her head, still laughing. "no," she managed to squeak out. I sit up in my bed and wait for her to calm down. I'm no longer panicking, but I am still confused about what happened. I really don't understand what's happening and I really wish I knew. After a while, she stops laughing. She had tears streaming down her bright red face. I'm so glad that my panic brought her so much joy. "There was something me and your father left out, we didn't know it would be an issue until it actually happened," she said as she whipped away her tears. "OK, what's the issue then?" I questioned. "When wolves find each other, the bond starts. Wolves can know when their mate is in trouble or pain, and they can know each others emotions. They can also know when the other person is unfaithful. No one knows why we were set up this way, probably so we can weed out the bad nuts." She giggled softly, "The unfortunate thing about this is, even though you both agreed on rejection, you still have this bond until the process is over." "OK.." I said slowly "So what? did he get into a fight or something? Get shot in the stomach?" My wolf whimpered slightly at the mention of him getting shot. She shakes her head and looks at me with pity in her eyes. "The pain you felt is when your mate is intimate with someone else sweetie." I suddenly feel rage, a hot rage that boils your blood, and sadness, the sadness you feel after losing someone you love. Why do I feel this way? We both agreed on the rejection. Why did he go sleep with someone right after rejecting me? He knew this would hurt me, didn't he? He knew this was going to piss me off more, but why am I so angry? Before I could think of anything else, my wolf took over. She's why I feel the blood boiling rage. "Where is he?" she seethes. My mom notices and tries to calm me down by rubbing my back. "Don't worry about that right now honey, you need to sleep for tomorrow's game." I got up and stomped to the door. "I'll find him myself," and with that I was off, sprinting through the house trying to catch any scent of him, my wolf in full control. "Why are we doing this? Mom was right, we have a game tomorrow and I need to make sure I'm ready." I asked my wolf, trying to reason with her. "He needs to know what he's done, he hurt us and that's not ok." she seethes. "It doesn't matter," I sighed, "We're going through the rejection process. Soon it won't matter what will happen." She ignores me and picks up his scent. It's near the basement door. I opened the door slowly, following the scent down stairs toward the door that leads to a secret tunnel to the cages in the pack house. "Why would he be down here?" I questioned her. "He hurt us and his wolf is very upset with him." She said, amused. We got to the last door. On the other side are the cages. His scent is very strong and you can hear thrashing. It almost sounds like he's trying to break the bars to get out. Suddenly, the thrashing stops and you can hear him say softly on the other side "mate?" We walked in and there he was along with my brother and Skyler. They both look up at me and Kyle nods his head at me and Skyler winks at me. Suddenly, Cai starts growling like a rabid animal. I walk up to him, my wolf still in control and my hand begins to reach out to him. "No! Stop, you'll reset the progress made!" I yelled. I begin to fight for control, it really doesn't take me long. I have my wolf pretty tamed. She knows if she doesn't back down I won't let her go for runs at night. I cracked my neck and looked at him. "So why did you do it?" I see him fighting for control for a bit before he relaxes. He must have won control because a smirk appeared on his lips. "Why, princess, are you jealous I didn't take you out into the woods and f**k you?" He laughs. My brother growls in disapproval. "Watch it 4. Your my friend, but I'm not afraid to fight you. Do not ever disrespect my sister like that again." This time it was my turn to get angry. I snapped my head in my brother's direction. "He always talks to me like this! How do you only care about it now!" I yelled at him. "Before, I thought it was him flirting with you! I had no idea he was going to reject you!" His face paled with the words that escaped his mouth. "You knew?" I said softly. The rage boiled up again, not only from my wolf, now it's from both of us. "You knew!" I screamed. "Well, this is our queue, we will leave you two alone to talk now." Skyler rushes my brother out of the room before I can do or say anything else. I turn to Cai, my wolf and I both seething. Before I can do anything, she takes control, reaches my hand through the bar and slaps him. I don't fight it. In fact, in this situation she's in the right. "You knew this would hurt me. Why did you do it!" I screamed at him. "Honestly princess, I didn't know it was going to cause that much pain, I only thought you could feel it." There's slight regret in his eyes. "I am sorry." With those words I froze. He just apologized to me. Cai Anderson, the asshole, the hell hound, just apologized to me. "I was honestly just done with everything at that moment and I just wanted a release. I know that is not an excuse, but it's the truth. If you're mad because I don't want you as my mate, that's is fine, but you have to understand why," he said as he sat down on the floor.
