Chapter 6
Ten minutes later, Jillian parked in front of Dorrit’s. Amy, who ran the place, had an annoying habit of spotting anything different and today, Jillian and Brett having an early lunch would definitely hit her radar. What could she do though? Being rude and uninviting him wasn’t an option after Melanie had, and there was no way she was going to scold Melanie for doing what she’d always been taught to do: Be nice. Besides, she had to admit she wanted to get to know him a little better, so this all worked out.
“Isn’t it great Coach P is coming with us to lunch? He’s really nice.”
She glanced in the rearview mirror and saw Melanie waving at Brett as he parked his Jeep next to her. Thankfully he waved back and gave Melanie a smile without looking at Jillian. He got that kids needed
