“And that brings me to the next point, these boys weekends. I got a call from one of his old mates, who hasn’t seen him for three f*****g years, the last time they had one of their boys weekends. Oh they keep in touch but they’re all married with kids or they’ve moved away, so even before we were married he must have been doing something on these weekends and he wasn’t with the boys.” Karen shifted in her seat slightly and their eyes met. Valerie felt it then, a desire to get out of her seat and move over to her but instead she swallowed and looked away. That night was a restless one.
