Chapter 10

They were looking at each other for couple of minutes that felt like hours.

"I got your text message"

"I guessed so..." said Paola looking at her shoes rather in his eyes

"What happened last night is that.. you were drunk and I...."

"You couldn't resist, why don't you say it?"

"This is not right for Jessica" She felt like a spike went through her heart when he mentioned Jessica.

"Why did you come here?"

"To clear the situation"

"And to tell me that what happened was wrong?"

"Yes.."

"You shouldn't come here to tell me that, you could just text me back, it was good for a night.. I didn't like it…I was drunk too"

"I wish you would show me what you showed me last night before I commit myself to Jessica"

"Commit? Are you planning to marry her?"

"Can you stop being cynical for a moment?"

"I can't, not with p*****s like you" she said and she left him standing there, she said many times that she will not cry again for him, but again she was crying, this time more than any other time.

Two months passed, two months with Paola ignoring Matthew as much as she could, she was not even looking at him even though they were regularly all going out together, rehearsing together, eating together. His relationship with Jessica was like an open wound, every kiss, every hug, every caress was feeding her jealousy.

Tonight I am gonna get myself a boyfriend, she said as soon as they entered the club, it was a girl's night, Bailey, Jessica, Lina and Chloe.

"Derek and his crew are here Chlo"

"Have you seen Tony yet"

"Supposedly it will be girl's night out" Jessica exclaimed.

"Don't be a buzz kill just because you got a sexy guy for yourself Jessica" Paola said

"Come on Lina, let's go get drinks"

"Is she planning to be like this for very long?"

"Give her a break Jess"

"She is acting like she is jealous of my relationship with Matthew"

"What? are you crazy? it’s all in your imagination, she is just too stressed and she doesn't like Matthew either, first you get him in the group, then in our squad and then as your boyfriend, it’s too much, give her some time to process"

"Go get your drinks girls, tonight we will burn this place"

"Relax Paola, we don't have Matthew to carry you again"

"So funny"

"Venn"

"Hamilton"

"Wanna dance?"

"Def"

"Hamilton? Jason Hamilton?" Matthew almost shouted

"Yes"

"The son of the Judge Hamilton?"

"Yes"

"Why would she date that creep?"

"He is her boyfriend"

''Since when?''

''They dated secretly for the last 2 months''

"Paola with that looser?"

"What's your problem?"

"That son of a b***h, spreads rumors about my father being corrupted!"

"She is dating the son, not the father!"

"They are the same s**t"

"She is a big girl and she can date whoever she likes"

"I am not coming"

"We go out as couples, you won't leave me alone"

"I am not sitting in the same table with that lowlife"

"Grow up! I’ll wait you at 9 sharp, don't make me wait you know I hate it"

In that night, you could cut the atmosphere with a knife, Paola, Jason, Bailey, Jessica, Matthew, Chloe and Derek. Jessica tried to make some jokes without any success, Bailey tried to open a discussion for the whales and their extinction.

"So Jason, you will become a Lawyer"

"Suits me very well don't you think?"

"It definitely does baby" Paola said and kissed his lips softly looking fast towards Matthew, to make sure that he saw it, she was so satisfied to see the jealousy in his eyes, it was time for payback and Jason Hamilton was the perfect match to hurt Matthew the same way he was hurting her feelings for all these months.

"I wanna make it the cause of my life to put scumbags, like corrupted lawyers for example behind the bars"

They all got the hint and they all realized that by that he meant Todd Maclean, Matthew's father. He didn't stop there, he went even further by asking Matthew if he knew anything for the murder of Todd's right hand, Jessie McCauley.

Derek was pulling Matthew in an effort to stop him from beating Jason. Jason had already a black eye but he wouldn't back down, he punched Matthew's mouth and broke his lips, the securities took them out, where Paola got Jason in her car and left while Matthew was cursing and swearing, kicking everything that he could find around him.

‘‘He must apologize to him or else we won’t be able to go out with you again’‘ said Jessica to Paola in a serious tone.

‘‘I know he went too far, but I can’t force him to apologize’‘

‘‘He is so immature and jealous’‘

‘‘Jealous?’‘

‘‘Of course, Matthew is much better than him, he is better looking, smarter and we both know that he will become way more successful lawyer than baby butter Jason’‘

‘‘I forbid you to talk this way about my boyfriend’‘

‘‘And I forbid your boyfriend to insult my man’‘

‘‘Did you come here to fight?’‘

‘‘No, just to clear things up’‘

‘‘I’ll speak to Jason, but I don’t promise’‘

‘‘I knew you will get in the right mind girl, now I have to go, it’s my Aunt’s Lilly birthday party and I have to go with my parents to her house’‘‘‘

‘‘The sister of your mother?’‘

‘‘Yes, we will stay there for the night’‘

‘‘Good luck to Matthew’‘

‘‘No, my baby is not coming with me, he will stay home to study’‘

‘‘Have fun’‘

‘‘Yea right’‘ she said rolling her eyes, kissed Paola and left.

The thought of Matthew being alone in his house with Jessica away for the night was torturing her. She lied to Jason that she couldn’t see him because she got her period and she was not feeling good, she even told him that she would sleep when he offered to go to her place to be together.

Before she could realize what she was doing, she already pressed ‘‘send’‘, her text was already received by Matthew, let’s all vote for a ‘‘recall the message’‘ button, she thought. She was holding tight her mobile in her hand when the answer came. ‘‘Where?’‘ he asked her, ‘‘to my place’‘ the answer came back fast, ‘‘I’‘ll be there in 10’‘

‘‘Why are we hiding?’‘

‘‘Because I don’t want anyone to get the wrong idea’‘

‘‘They all know that I am Jessica’s boyfriend’‘

‘‘That’s why’‘ she said and she clearly sounded annoyed

‘‘So, now that we are in your room, can you tell me what you wanted to talk to me about?’‘

‘‘Are you upset on me?’‘

‘‘Why would I be upset on you?’‘

‘‘You sound a bit awkward’‘

‘‘Just your idea’‘

‘‘Ok, so.. I just wanted you to know that I disagree with what Jason said, he was not correct and he shouldn’t act the way he did’‘

‘‘Ok’‘

‘‘Ok?’‘

‘‘What more?’‘

‘‘Nothing more’‘

‘‘Then am out’‘

‘‘Where are you going?’‘

‘‘To study’‘

‘‘Stay with me’‘

‘‘I believe is better if I go’‘ he turned his back and walked until the door when she spoke again

‘‘Does it feel better?’‘

‘‘What?’‘

She stood up from the chaise longue,  went close to him and touched the lower part of his lips, where Jason punched him

‘‘Are you still in pain?’‘

‘‘No, this guy is punching like a p***y, I don’t understand why you are with him’‘

‘‘What can I do if the man I want is with someone else?’‘

‘‘Nothing, just make sure next time you find your man, to show it to him before he would be taken by someone else’‘ he turned to leave when she put her hand on the door, pushed it to close and locked, pulling the keys out.

‘‘What are you doing?’‘

‘‘I don’t want you to leave’‘

‘‘Where you drinking again?’‘

‘‘No, I am sober, you can smell me if you don’t believe me’‘ she went near him but he immediately pulled back away.

‘‘That’s a new one, do I disgust you now?’‘

‘‘No, but you know very well what happens when we get so close’‘

‘‘What’s the problem with that?’‘

‘‘Last time I checked, we were both in a relationship’‘

‘‘You do you treat me cold?

‘‘Is for the best, trust me’‘ after few moments of silence of both looking each other in the eyes, she handed him the key of the door and went on her bed, she laid down and left staring at him, waiting for him to unlock the door and leave. He unlocked the door and opened to leave, then he closed the door.

‘‘Did you do it with him?’‘

‘‘Did you do it with her?’‘

‘‘Yes’‘

She felt like thousands of people pulled her hair and stabbed her throat, Jessica didn’t say anything to them about it, still he was standing there in front of her face telling her that he had s*x with Jessica.

‘‘What do you expect me to say?’‘

‘‘Did you do it with him?’‘ he repeated

‘‘Was she good at least?’‘

‘‘No she wasn't, did you do it with him?’‘

‘‘Maybe’‘

‘‘Did you or didn’t you?’‘

‘‘I didn’t’‘

He didn’t say anything, he left staring at her waiting for her to say something, do something, anything.

‘‘I didn’t do it with him because the only person I can imagine myself doing with, is you, I can’t get you out of my head, I want you to make love to me’‘

‘‘I can’t get you out of my head Paola, since the time I saw you in the pool, wearing that red bikini’‘ he laughed softly and went near her, he leaned on top of her and kissed her softly, warmly, with all the sweetness a kiss of two people who were deeply in love could have. He was kissing her lips, her eyes, her nose, her chin. She was passing her hands through his hair, his back, his chest, craving more his kisses, for his caresses, at that moment she didn’t care about anything else, she only wanted to feel him. He took off her top and then her bra while he was licking and kissing her belly button and squeezing her right n****e when the door opened abruptly and Jason got inside the room.
