Its 2:30 in the aftertoon in kano nigeria with a blazing sun above , the streets is quiet and adogogee is on his way back from school , like always nobody noticed him , blurred into the background of his environment he slips into books and movies. He highlights from his bike goes upstairs takes a quick shower and prepares for his rugby training he just got admitted into barewa academy a year ago,
And he has become somewhat popular around the ladies who come to watch the playoffs, as he was busy trying to put his training jersy on his phone rings, he drops the top picks re phone up and answers"afternoon coach ", hope you are good my boy , just go for a run today we are having a meeting and not in town you boys can have a little break today, julian cuts the phone .
After undressing he picks a novel from his dad's library and heads to the dining to seat , its a novel by chinua achebe a famous nigerian writer " things fall apart" just as he was about to turn the sixth page he hears a knock on the door , stood up walks to the door and to his surprise its his sister's friend , she knows freda is still in boarding school so why is she here? He smiles to hide his confusion and ama said” hi" breaking the akward silence , hey come in he retorted and as she did they exchanged pleasantries .
Finally he asked what brings you over "you forgot your friend is still in school , he said look at the window trying to avoid much eye contact, she answered " oh well i know i was just passing by so i said i should check up on you its been a while , yeah he replied and some minutes of silence she asked whit her eyes fixated on him do you have a girlfriend? He felt the question shaking the room , and her eyes searching his and just then his home felt strange , how can someone do this ro him making him so uncomfortable he felt like walking out of the house but rhen he calmly answered in low voice "no " and she said good what do you think of me , it felt like something you read in a book just then he looked closely at her watching her round eyes strip his existance in a candence he barely understand, she stands up walks over to him and sits on his lap as his lips part and cold sweat grace his body she relaxes on his fine tuned body and wisper into his ears "you can have me anytime you want just dont think too much about it , she stood up and left without saying anything , it took a while for him to realise he was in his home and the his jaw was on the floor .
That night he could not sleep thoughts flooded his mind briming with all that happened today , how he had been awestruck by her grace and he knew he wanted her , he needed to see her the next day, he has never been this anxious about going anywhere but school today felt too heavy because she was his senior in saint james college .it was during break time she passed by him where hej sat with his friends and winked , a few of them caught his smile and by closing hour the whole school have heard about the two , it was such big news because the he rarely said anything to anyone except it was necessary , so a relationship with a senior was never a possibility.
When the got home he went for his sport activities and later that evening met her on hiS way to his house , he greeted her and said" yes" she asked yes what and he said under his breath you are mine as though defeated in a rumble
