Chapter 2Liam lay awake in his bed, staring at the obnoxious popcorn-textured ceiling of his minuscule apartment, and wondering what the hell he’d gotten himself into. He’d needed a fresh start far away from the horses he’d cared for and trained to run steeplechases. The biggest break from that reality and the memory of the horse that’d died under him had been the offer of a trainer position in the middle of the American Southwest.
