Robin sat on the couch with a pale face. Jayden's gaze paused on her for a brief moment before turning cold again.
"Martha cannot wait any longer. If she does not undergo surgery soon, she will die."
Robin looked at him quietly, and for a moment she remembered the boy he used to be, the one who would panic over even the smallest cut on her hand and rush to find a bandage.
This time, however, the person he cared about was Martha.
"Martha's life has nothing to do with me."
Jayden had already gathered the best cardiothoracic surgeons in the country and brought them to the hospital. The surgery could begin at any moment as long as Martha agreed.
However, Martha refused. She insisted on seeing Robin and Jayden divorced first, even if it meant risking her own life. Robin found the situation absurd.
"Robin, she is your sister!"
Furious, Jayden caught sight of the fish tank. He grabbed a nearby stool and hurled it straight at the tank.
Robin's heart tightened instantly.
"No!"
She rushed forward to stop him, even falling in front of the tank, but she failed to prevent what happened next.
The aquarium shattered, and water spilled across the floor. The rare ornamental fish were suddenly exposed to the air and struggled desperately to breathe.
Robin reached out to save them, but the moment her hand touched the broken glass, sharp pain tore through her skin.
Blood immediately began to flow. If her hand felt this painful, she could not imagine what the fish were experiencing.
None of them survived. Every single one died.
Over the years, Jayden had searched across the country for those rare fish just to make her happy, and now everything was destroyed in an instant.
Cuts covered her exposed skin, some shallow and some deep enough to bleed heavily. The sight was alarming, yet she seemed almost unaware of the pain.
She grabbed the divorce agreement beside her and threw it at Jayden.
"Get out!"
Jayden froze briefly and showed a flicker of hesitation. He stepped forward to support her, but his careless grip pressed against her injured wrist and worsened the wound.
"Robin, the divorce is only temporary. We will remarry in the future. Do not hurt yourself like this. I will take you to the hospital."
Robin's eyes were filled with tears from the pain.
At that moment, the secretary who had followed Jayden suddenly spoke in excitement.
"Mr. Jenkins, it has already been signed!"
Jayden turned immediately to look.
The secretary held the agreement, now stained with traces of blood, and Robin's name was clearly written on it.
Relief appeared on his face.
With this document, Martha would finally agree to the surgery.
He stood up at once and called the hospital, completely ignoring Robin lying in a pool of blood.
"Notify everyone and arrange Martha's surgery as soon as possible!"
He walked quickly toward the door and only remembered Robin at the last moment. He turned back, and guilt finally appeared on his face.
"Robin, I will call a doctor for you. Please wait here. Martha's surgery cannot be delayed. I will make it up to you later."
He left in a hurry, and his footsteps quickly faded.
The pain from her wounds spread through her body, and Robin could not stop her tears from falling.
She used the last of her strength to reach for her phone and opened the transfer document sent by HR.
The destination was Nylara, a place she had never been before, and the flight alone would take six hours.
Robin stared at the screen and slowly exhaled.
That distance meant she would no longer have to see any of them again.
She no longer wanted a future that involved them.
She only wanted to leave completely and never return.
