A new responsibility

Veronica's Pov

Veronica reached school in time like usual. She went towards her class and placed her bag on the front desk marking it her spot. After that she quickly scanned the class and checked if there were chalks in the teachers cabinet. she also checked the connection of the smart board and the projector. she was the monitor of the class and pretty much she knew she will again be appointed the class monitor.

She did not talk or chatter like other girls instead she rushed to the library and handed over the piece of paper that contained a number of reference books they would need for the present year.

She overed a girl of her class saying "look at this oversmart bi**h she has already gone to the library" while everyone of the group of girls giggled. she felt like giving a smack to her head but kept her calm and walked away. It was now time for assembly.

just then to her releif she found her best friend Suzanne sitting next to her desk. she went straight up to her and gave a warm hug. Suzanne was a pretty slim girl with blue eyes and a small ponytail. She was the Beta's daughter of Veronica's pack. She was just as studious and serious as Veronica and she was the only one with whom Veronica shared everything and even laughed with or smiled except for her family. They already had spent their holidays together

soon the bell rang and they headed to the assembly.

After the morning prayer the principal announced the hosting of the inter school competition and also divided works among the teachers.

Then came the announcement that was quite suprising Veronica was selected the leader from the students part in the event . she was to overlook all the things and also to lead the team from their school. Thank God Suzanne was selected the incharge of the decorations or else Veronica would have gone mad at it. Veronica never was too into decoration and staff save her own room.

The principal also said that they should keep the trophy to them just like last time that is four years ago.

In the recess Veronica felt a load on her head " will she be able to hold the title and fame of her school?" Suzanne seemed to understand her dilema she spoke" Don't worry dear, you are the best you will surely make us win, she winked and wishpered " do not you forget you are the Alphas princess". Veronica sighed " hope so"

Things will go as they are meant to be she told.to herself it is our duty only to give our best the rest is not in our hands. she remembered her father's teachings A true wolf is someone who works hundred percent, who fights to the last breath, and who stands like a strong tree even in the days of storm. The consequences does not matter all that matters is how much effort one has put into it. if the hard work is real it alone is the fruit of the effort.

she then thought who might be the leader and how strong the team of her twin brother David's school will be.She had to dig out from David all the details.

The rest of the classes were only introductory ones. Every teacher only discussed the syllabus and a few pleasantries were exchanged.

The final bell rang and they all headed out to car. Veronica asked Suzanne to come with her instead of waiting for her father the Beta wolf of the pack. but she refused because her father might be on the way. parting from her she entered the cars rear seat. She asked the driver to quickly reach David's school as they were turning around the corner to David's school she caught a glimpse of a boy speeding recklessly in his bicycle. she only saw his back but instantly recognised him, he was David's best friend.what a funky fellow she felt alergic to him already. David's choice she gave in a sigh. She began recalling his name David had spoken like a thousand times and his lips might have spoken his name a thousand more times but Veronica never paid any attention to it so she could not recall. She was lost in her thought when David was already inside the car and teased her " whose thoughts are you lost in, have you seen some handsome dude on your way and fallen for him, Veronica gave a stern look and replied " just shut up and buckle the seat belts."

David only Giggled and winked at the driver and said to him " By the way the handsome hunk if you have met Uncle Ben is my best friend Drayce Herlock".

Veronica spoke to herself "Drayce it is then, Drayce Herlock a moron and rule breaker" how come he is a wolf with no discipline at all "

yes the wolves in the town knew about the other wolves because they had a proper list and database of all the wolves and no outsider was aloud in the town without proper database or knowledge of the wolf packs.
