Chapter Fifteen Keir waited until everything was silent before opening the bedroom door and poking his head out. He hadn’t been able to hear most of the conversation, but he could feel the aggressive energy filling the room and seeping into the hallway and under the crack of the bedroom door. Keir peered down the hall and saw Regal’s back facing him. The light from the living room cast long shadows that reached down the corridor. “Regal?” he called. Regal turned, glancing over his shoulder toward Keir. The shadows masked his face, but the angel could see Regal’s eyes glowing. “She’s gone. For now.” The angel came out from his hiding place and walked up to Regal. The demon’s body language seemed relaxed, but his eyes were blazing with mixed emotions Keir couldn’t identify.
