Chapter Thirty-One The infirmary was similar to those on Earth. All of the walls, beds, and sheets were clean and white. It reeked of sanitizer and bleach. Although the beds were comfortable and the saints took care of those wounded, no angel wanted to end up there. It was one of the loneliest places in Heaven if you had to visit the quarantine sector. This is where Gabriel took Keir the moment they were back through Heaven’s Gates. Keir was on the brink of death, and he was only vaguely aware of the saints that swarmed around him and began to give him anesthetics. In seconds, they began to take effect, and he could barely feel his own chest rising and falling. He watched the saints clean and stitch his wounds. He groaned and looked away, unable to see himself being sewn up. “Gabriel?”
