Chapter Twenty-Four The blinding sun woke Regal up the next morning. He sat up, rubbing his eyes tiredly. Ever since he had virtues placed on him, he hadn’t woken up with headaches. The sun didn’t affect him nearly as much. He hated that. Beside him, Keir stirred, rolling from his side onto his stomach to bury his face in the pillows. Was he hiding from the light? That’s what Regal hoped. Memories from the night before sent a surge of excitement through him. He lifted the blanket and scanned his eyes over the angel’s body in search for a sign. His fingertips brushed against the now dark patches on Keir’s shoulder blades, trying to coax his wings out. If they were black, he won. They slid out from Keir’s back, unfurling slightly.
