Lukas looked at the man with the scar running down his face knowing he would indeed be surprised when he realized what Lukas could do. None of the people in this alley, in the city, in the world Above had ever seen the Hedge performed and meted out. In the back of his mind, a small sliver of regret sliced through Lukas’s awareness; it was a shame he had to use it now, Above, when his home and the Hedge Masters who had trained beside him were now all vanished.
