The City – Inside the Worldveil
High above the Earth, in a place unseen by mortal eyes but perhaps echoing in some of their hearts, the stars themselves shuddered. Beyond the constructs of time and space but still inexorably linked to them, the worldveil wavered and shook, bulging with the force behind it. Then it ripped open to reveal a vast armada of glittering, crystalline ships, their forms spiraling in both mathematical perfection and the natural, curving beauty of life itself. Thousands of them, tens of thousands, all hovering there in tense, eager anticipation on the pinnacle of this day—the nexus of all that ever was and all that ever would be.
