Things seemed to be settling down now that Lily’s been sentenced, and Nova is almost to her due date. Everlyn took a week off work before going back to the office. Her car had to be towed and thankfully wasn’t totaled, but there was a lot of structural damage that needed to be fixed. It was going to take a while so that meant I’d have to bring her to work and pick her up until it was fixed.
“Have a good day handsome,” she said sweetly to me before leaning over the console to kiss me. “I’ll see you at five?”
