Second Chance at Sunset_
I sat there for a moment, my mind racing with questions. Who was Amanda meeting at the old lighthouse? And what did they want from her? The note seemed ominous, and I couldn't shake off the feeling that something was wrong.
As I sat there, lost in thought, I heard a faint whisper in my ear. "Don't trust her, Niyass." I spun around, but there was no one there. The whisper seemed to come from all around me, echoing off the walls.
I felt a chill run down my spine. Who was trying to warn me? And what did they mean?
I decided to investigate further. I went to the old lighthouse, my heart pounding in my chest. As I approached the entrance, I saw Amanda standing there, her back to me.
"Amanda?" I called out, my voice low.
She turned to me, her eyes filled with fear. "Niyass, what are you doing here?"
"I saw the note," I said, my voice firm. "I know you're meeting someone. Who is it?"
Amanda's eyes darted around, as if she was searching for an escape. "It's...it's no one," she stammered.
But I knew she was lying. I could see the fear in her eyes, the desperation.
Suddenly, a figure emerged from the shadows. Tall, imposing, and menacing. "Ah, Niyass," he said, his voice dripping with malice. "I've been waiting for you."
Amanda's eyes widened in fear. "Niyass, please. You have to go."
But it was too late. The figure grabbed me, his grip like a vice. "You're not going anywhere, Niyass," he sneered.
I struggled to break free, but he was too strong. Amanda tried to intervene, but he pushed her away.
As I looked into his eyes, I saw something that made my blood run cold. A glint of recognition. A spark of hatred.
And then, everything went black.
When I came to, I was lying on the ground, my head throbbing with pain. Amanda was kneeling beside me, her eyes filled with tears.
"Niyass, I'm so sorry," she whispered. "I didn't mean for this to happen."
I sat up, my mind reeling. "What happened?" I asked, my voice groggy.
Amanda hesitated. "I'll tell you everything," she said. "But you have to promise to listen."
I nodded, my heart pounding in my chest. What secrets was Amanda hiding? And what did this mysterious figure want from us?
As Amanda began to speak, her voice barely above a whisper, I felt a sense of dread creeping over me. The truth was more sinister than I could have ever imagined.
