Chapter Two

I got bored while driving so I got The Great Escape blaring on my stereo. I arrived home at exactly 7:20 a.m., the one-hour drive was only thirty-seven minutes. Of course I slowed down when I arrived at Arsithio.

I entered Doña Rita and did not have to be stopped with the guard since he knew I was going to live in the house my older brother had owned. I stopped at a two storey beige house- 102.

At last. I finally arrived here, my home for four years. I took a deep breath and began to carry the boxes inside.

I went in with the last box and looked closely at the house. I was surprised since the house wasn't completely empty, with a sofa set and a fridge in the kitchen. I was still wandering around and found that the house had two rooms, one of which was a guestroom.

Maybe after class I'll go grocery shopping and buy mt bed and other appliances. I mean, I'll live here for four years so I might as well make this place feel homey.

I look at my watch. Shizzling cheese! 8:30 a.m. and my class starts at nine!

I hurried to my car and drove to the university. It was exactly nine o'clock when I arrived at the university's office.

I asked for a schedule and went straight to my first class.

Class went well until the professor asked why we took our course. "State your name and reason."

"Hi, I'm Kiesha, I took this course because I wanted to blah-blah-blah." everyone was explaining, they were just all for good-shot. Why don't they just get straight to the point?

It was my turn so I lazily stood up. "The name's Ace, even my family don't understand my reason so would all of you?" I said and went back to sitting.

There was a short period of silence before our professor asked and said to continue. I propped my arms on my desk and laid my head on top before closing my eyes.

But a certain girl caught my attention so I turned around to look at her.

"Devonne, It's a very personal reason why I took BS Psychology so don't bother." She said and sat down.

Devonne... She's cute though and I had all of my morning classes with her in it. I was about leave the room to have lunch when someone tapped my shoulder.

"Ace right?" oh, its Devonne. "Can I go with you for lunch? I have no friends in our course." she continued.

I nodded and walked, she went along.

She turned to me. "What do you want? I'll get us something to eat, just get us a table."

"Onion rings, sisig, coke." I answer shortly.

Just nodding and queued, I went straight to the table near the large glass window overlooking the car park. Moments later Devonne arrived and laid down the tray of food.

"Uhm, I haven't been able to introduce properly so... Hi! I'm Devonne Amber Ferrecio." She presented a hand.

I shooked her hand. "Dos Crystal Ace Renacia. Please don't call me Dos and even more so Crystal. Ace is perfect." I explain.

"Don't worry, I also don't want to be called Amber so we're quits. Don't you really speak too often?" He inquired and laughed.

I just shrugged my shoulders. I didn't know she was talkative so I just answered, she might say that I was too rude if I didn't answer.

"You're so cool, you silenced the class earlier in your response. Even Me. Decampo!" she laughed out loud.

I smirked and continued to eat. I think she's a witch in our generation and not a normal woman, she seems to laugh like it.

I was walking down the hallway out of the building, the song Xanny by Bellie Eilish was playing on my airpods. I was near the parking lot when I realized someone was walking along.

I took out one of my airpods and looked at her. "What do you need?"

"Ahh, ehh, uhmm, because, what ..."

I raised it with eyebrows.

She laughed as if she was shy. "Uhh, because... Can you drive me home, you have a car right? Hehe, please?" she pleaded.

I let out a sigh and rolled my eyes. I nodded and went to my car, as soon as I started the engine I turned to her.

"Where to?"

She's just looking out the window.

"Prestine Heights."

She's it rich, she doesn't have a driver or a car at all?

Her home was about two hours away. Doesn't she get late? She lives farther than my home.

She turned to me. "I know what you're thinking."

My eyebrows shot up as I stared at the road.

"I didn't have a driver because I didn't want to be dropped and fetched at skool like a kid, I didn't have a car because my dad didn't want me to drive. I might get into an accident.

I let out a chuckle and signaled to the right going to enter the villa but Devonne suddenly cried.

"You laugh! Omg! You laugh!"

I just slowly shook my head at her behavior and stopped at the guard house. I opened the window to my side, the guard immediately looking inside.

"Mister, no need for a gate pass, hehe, she'll just drop me off."

The guard nodded and I continued. "Your house number?"

"243."

"I'm not really going to let you drive me home, but because I'm in a hurry because I'm going to watch horror movies on Netflix. I'm sorry, I had to drag you all the way here and wasted your gas." she said and laughed.

I quickly found their house, I pulled over. Before going out she turned to me and smiled sweetly. "Thank you so much. You know my house is far away but you still drived me home."

I nodded and drove off. Actually, I was very comfortable with her and she was the first one to talk to me . I admire her for that.

I went to the mall to buy necessities. I bought food and beverages, eating and cooking utensils, things for hygiene and a gray queen sized bed and etc.

I had my stuff delivered, of course it couldn't fit in my car so I had it delivered. I finished my Oplan Moving, around eight and I was too exhausted to cook so I just ordered food and went to bed.

I woke up at six in the morning and had a jog around Doña Rita. It was about six o'clock when I returned home, so I cooked breakfast and then took a shower. I wore black loose top, swag and black converse and went down to eat.

I had my mini speaker blasting I.F.L.Y by Bazzi as I was washing the dishes. After that, I had to round the house to find out what else I needed to buy this weekend. Yes, this weekend since its exhausting if I do it after school so never again.

I took the bag I had prepared earlier at the counter with the keys and locked the house and I headed to school.

The same routine in the morning until lunch came, I'm going to regret Devonne's talk.

There I sat back in our chair yesterday for Devonne's very miraculous and quiet today, refreshing. It might be those days .

I squinted my eyes. "Are you on your period?"

She rolled her eyes and sighed. "No, my cousin from North University will move here."

Wait. "The all boys school?"

She just nodded. "Arghh, why did he find out I was here for college?" she drawled.

I let out a chuckle. "Why are you so stressed?"

"He's the leader of monkeys and very over protective."

Suddenly, the door to the cafeteria opened and four boys came in- wait, is the other one a boy? He has long hair. Thats against the school rules. I noticed Devonne immediately covered her face.

One of them took out his phone and seemed to be calling someone. Devonne's cellphone rang.

"And the devil calls." She cursed under her breath and answered the call. "Sup dork?"

"Right around the room" she continued. Asked maybe.

I realized that the four of them were walking in our direction. Oh dear.

Devonne was left with no choice so she immediately addressed them. "Ynoxx, I thought you were the only one? Why are your chimpanzee disciples included?"

Ahh. Ynoxx is her cousin's name.

The other one acted really hurt. "Ouch."

"Be quiet Clayton, you wouldn't be affected right? You're clay." Devonne talks about the one name Clayton.

"Oooohhh, Buuurn." the one with long hair fueled.

"Love keel your mouth shut if you don't want me to toast you too." Wait.

Love? Short for lovely right? Is it an appropriate name for boys? What??Her boyfriend maybe? Maybe a gaygirl?

"Devonne-" Ynoxx.

"Shut. It." Devonne cuts him off. "I wanted to TRY and live without relatives in tow, but now... Look at this." Devonne looked like she was so done.

The four ignored Devonne's last words as if nothing had been heard and just laughed.

"Anyway, aren't you going to introduce us to your friend?" Says one I have never heared his name.

Devonne sighed. "These bunch of Chimpanzees are named Khaishler, Clayton, Ynoxx and my favorite Love."

"Ace." I curtly nodded.

"Envy you! I'm your cousin's favorite." I don't know if Love was just joking at Ynoxx or what.

Ynoxx just shook his head.

"So mind if we take a seat?" Khaishler.

"Suit yourselves." I said, the food tray was now replaced with my notebook and yellow pad.

The sound of metal screeching on the floor occupied the whole room. I immediately turned around and saw four of them pull a chair and take a table to connect to ours.

Almost all of the attention was fixed at our table. Great, just great. And because of the faces of these guys and from N.U., I know this will be the talk of the week.

I rolled my eyes and stood up. Clayton turned. "We just came here and we dodn't even know the way around the university."

"Tsk." I immediately turned and walked away while I put on my airpods.
