Chapter 2: The Rockstar's Secret
Li Wei couldn't stop thinking about Zhang Yue. He had never felt such a strong connection with anyone before. As he walked into his luxurious mansion, he was greeted by his manager, John.
"Hey, Li Wei, how was the concert last night?" John asked, sipping his coffee.
"It was great, as always," Li Wei replied, his mind still on Zhang Yue. "But I met someone last night, John. Someone special."
John raised an eyebrow. "Oh? Who's the lucky girl?"
"Her name is Zhang Yue. She's a college student, and...and she's different, John. She sees me, not just the rockstar."
John's expression turned serious. "Li Wei, you know the rules. No serious relationships, no distractions from the music and the fame."
Li Wei sighed, knowing John was right. His management team had always been clear about keeping his personal life private and separate from his career. But he couldn't help how he felt.
"I know, John. But I can't help it. I need to see her again."
John shook his head. "Be careful, Li Wei. You don't want to risk your career for a fleeting romance."
But Li Wei was determined. He had to find a way to balance his love for Zhang Yue with his life as a rockstar.
Little did he know, their love was about to be put to the test.
Li Wei couldn't concentrate on his music or anything else. His mind was consumed by thoughts of Zhang Yue. He needed to see her again, to hold her and kiss her. He couldn't wait any longer.
He picked up his phone and dialed her number, his heart racing with anticipation. She answered on the first ring, and they talked for hours, their conversation flowing effortlessly.
As the days went by, Li Wei and Zhang Yue's relationship blossomed. They met in secret, stolen moments whenever Li Wei's schedule allowed. They laughed, loved, and explored the city together, their connection growing stronger with each passing day.
But the pressures of Li Wei's fame and the scrutiny of the media began to take its toll. Paparazzi followed them, snapping photos and asking intrusive questions. Zhang Yue was overwhelmed, and Li Wei felt helpless to protect her.
One night, as they walked hand in hand through the city streets, they were ambushed by a group of aggressive paparazzi. Li Wei shielded Zhang Yue from the cameras, his anger boiling over.
"Leave us alone!" he shouted, his voice echoing off the buildings.
But the paparazzi wouldn't back down, their cameras flashing like a frenzy of fireflies. Li Wei knew he had to get Zhang Yue out of there, fast.
He pulled her close, his heart racing with fear. "Come on, let's get out of here," he whispered, his lips brushing against her ear.
As they sped away in his car, Zhang Yue's eyes were wide with worry. "Li Wei, what's going to happen? Can't we just be normal?"
Li Wei's grip on the steering wheel tightened. He knew the answer. They could never be normal, not as long as he was a rockstar.
But he couldn't bear the thought of losing her. He had to find a way to make it work, to protect her from the chaos of his fame.
As they drove away from the paparazzi, Zhang Yue's eyes sparkled with tears. "Li Wei, I can't take this. I'm just a college student, not a celebrity. I don't want to be in the spotlight."
Li Wei's heart ached. He knew he was putting her in a difficult position. "I know, baby. I'm sorry. I'll do whatever it takes to protect you."
But as they arrived at his mansion, they were greeted by a sea of cameras and reporters. Li Wei's management team had called a press conference, and Zhang Yue was thrust into the spotlight.
"Li Wei, who is this mystery woman?" a reporter shouted.
Li Wei's eyes locked onto Zhang Yue, his heart racing with fear. He knew he had to make a choice.
"Zhang Yue is my girlfriend," he declared, his voice loud and clear. "And I'll do everything in my power to keep her safe and happy."
The room erupted into chaos, cameras flashing and reporters shouting questions. Zhang Yue's eyes widened in shock, and Li Wei knew he had to get her out of there.
He swept her into his arms, shielding her from the chaos. "Let's get out of here, baby. We'll face this together."
As they escaped the madness, Li Wei knew their love was strong enough to overcome any obstacle, the challenges were only just beginning.
As they drove away from the press conference, Zhang Yue's mind raced with thoughts of the chaos they had just left behind. "Li Wei, what have we gotten ourselves into?" she asked, her voice laced with worry.
Li Wei's expression was determined. "We'll face it together, Zhang Yue. We'll make it work."
But as they arrived at his mansion, they were greeted by his management team, who were far from pleased with Li Wei's public declaration of love.
"Li Wei, you know the rules," his manager, John, said sternly. "No serious relationships, no distractions from the music and the fame."
Li Wei's jaw clenched. "I don't care about the rules, John. I care about Zhang Yue."
John's expression turned cold. "You're putting your career at risk, Li Wei. And what about Zhang Yue's safety? You're putting her in the spotlight, making her a target for the paparazzi and the public's scrutiny."
Li Wei's eyes narrowed. "I'll do whatever it takes to protect her, John. And I won't let anyone come between us."
But as they argued, Zhang Yue slipped away, feeling overwhelmed and uncertain about her place in Li Wei's life.
As she wandered through the mansion, she stumbled upon a room filled with Li Wei's memorabilia and awards. And in the center of it all, a photo of a woman who looked eerily like her.
Zhang Yue's heart raced as she realized the truth. She wasn't the first woman in Li Wei's life. And she might not be the last.
Zhang Yue's eyes were fixed on the photo, her mind racing with questions. Who was this woman? Why did Li Wei have a photo of her in his mansion?
Just then, Li Wei appeared beside her, his eyes following hers to the photo. "Ah, that's...my past," he said, his voice low and hesitant.
Zhang Yue's gaze snapped to his face, her heart pounding. "Your past?"
Li Wei nodded, his eyes avoiding hers. "Yes. Her name was Sophia. We were...involved, a long time ago."
Zhang Yue felt a pang of jealousy, mixed with a dash of curiosity. "What happened?"
Li Wei's expression turned somber. "It ended badly. She wanted more than I could give her, and...it didn't work out."
Zhang Yue's eyes narrowed, sensing there was more to the story. But before she could press him further, Li Wei's phone rang, shrill and insistent.
He sighed, answering the call. "What is it, John?"
As he listened, his expression turned grim. "Fine. I'll handle it."
He turned to Zhang Yue, his eyes apologetic. "I have to go. There's a crisis with the label, and I need to sort it out."
Zhang Yue nodded, feeling a sense of unease. She knew Li Wei's fame came with a price, but she was starting to realize just how high that price might be.
As Li Wei rushed out of the room, Zhang Yue couldn't help but wonder...what other secrets was he hiding?
Zhang Yue wandered through the mansion, feeling lost and alone. She couldn't shake off the feeling that Li Wei was hiding something from her.
As she turned a corner, she stumbled upon a door hidden behind a tapestry. The door was slightly ajar, and she could hear the sound of whispering voices coming from the other side.
Her curiosity piqued, Zhang Yue pushed the door open and slipped inside. She found herself in a dark, dimly lit room filled with rows of computer screens and surveillance equipment.
A figure sat in the shadows, monitoring the screens. As Zhang Yue approached, the figure turned to face her.
It was John, Li Wei's manager.
"What are you doing in here?" Zhang Yue asked, her voice firm.
John's expression turned cold. "Just keeping an eye on things, Zhang Yue. Making sure Li Wei's secrets stay safe."
Zhang Yue's eyes narrowed. "What secrets?"
John smiled, his eyes glinting with malice. "Oh, I think you know exactly what I'm talking about."
Suddenly, the screens flickered to life, displaying images of Zhang Yue and Li Wei's private moments. Her heart raced as she realized the truth.
Li Wei's management team had been watching her, monitoring her every move.
Zhang Yue's anger boiled over. "How dare you!"
John shrugged. "We're just protecting Li Wei's interests, Zhang Yue. You're a liability he can't afford."
With that, he turned back to the screens, dismissing her.
Zhang Yue stormed out of the room, her mind racing with thoughts of betrayal and deceit. She knew she had to confront Li Wei, but she was afraid of what she might find.
