Chapter 4

Lucas's Pov

"What do you mean she just left, you let her leave again?" Nolan yelled

"And what's it with that tone?"

"I'd use any tone I like"

"Alright then" walking past him heading to my study, Nolan hot on my trail "I thought you said you'd use any tone you like?" Not bothering to face him as I got in, settling in on my desk going through some files

"Okay fine, I'm sorry what happened?"

"How many times do you want me telling you, her glasses broke and she can't see without them, she'll be pretty useless without it at the office and so I took her to get new ones, her brows just kept furrowing and I couldn't help but pry into her thoughts and all she kept thinking of was how uncomfortable I made her, and what people would say if we're seen together, probably they'd say she's after our money, I got really upset and I'm guessing she noticed but not why. And so she walked up to me palming my face in her hands and asked what's getting me upset my love. Realising she wasn't really in control of what happened, she pulled away and the pain that usually comes with her remembering bits of the other life happened. But she wouldn't stay close to me, I yelled at her in the car for calling me sir and she cried and I was going to say sorry but the moment I turned off the car she got out saying thank you and left. Happy now?"

"But isn't it early, we haven't made much contact and she's beginning to remember a bit of her life before"

"Well that's why we're her mates, we'll do it right this time"

"Right? We're going to do nothing about it Lucas, aren't you tired? As to why the moon Goddess keeps doing this to us. How many times has she died in our arms? How many? Goddamn six times and what this might be what? The seventh time" he yelled, if you have the strength for that I admire you but I don't. I can't keep losing her over and over again. You have the capacity to being strong and always hopeful about her coming and losing her and waiting on her again, but I'm done"

"If you were done, why was there a bulge in your pants the first day she turned her back to walk out after the interview. And if I clearly remember, whenever she does that it gets you very turned on. You can lie to me Nolan but you can't lie to yourself. I love her so much with everything in me and I will do everything in my power to keep her from dying this time and prove the moon Goddess wrong. It's totally up to you, you can go ahead and reject her, and leave her all for me"

He fell back on the sofa "She's till the same" quietly "she's still intimidated by me, but this personality is tougher than she looks"

"And if you'd be a tad bit nicer, she'll come around"

"It's just been two days and she's already getting fragments of her life, she called you my love and what did I get, nothing. Always fancying you than she did me"

Chuckling "You're such a baby Nolan"

"Did iris send her bag home?" He asked getting up

"No, she said mum called her back home for an urgent work, she'll probably get it tomorrow"

"How do you think she'll handle it this time" he asked nervously

"She's one to always surprise us, so let's see how this goes" looking back at my computer

"I'm going out" striding towards the door

"Don't go scaring her Nolan, she's still shaken from earlier" and then his footsteps stopped

"And how do you know she's still shakened from earlier?" He had a knowing smirk plastered on that smug face of his

"It's already 12am Nolan, let her be"

"Bye brother" and with his speed he was out the door and probably out of the house as well.

Maybe Nolan was right, what if we can't save her again this time? What if she doesn't even take it nicely, what if she does? Would she sacrifice herself again the same way she has been doing

If I knew she'd be the last person to have walked in through that door, I wouldn't have held an interview. It took a lot of control to not let the beast in me shred her clothes to pieces and have her there and there as punishment for always leaving me. I was scared shitless too, but both of us couldn't be scared, someone needs to be strong for all of us

"Alpha" Zeus, my beta intruded my thought

"Zeus, what do I say about giving me a heads up"

"I apologize Alpha, but this couldn't wait"

"Well it better be important seeing an hour couldn't wait"

"Some rogues sneaked past our border and into our territory, apparently Alpha Daniel from Blood moon pack was behind it and gave them the go ahead to take and own any she wolf for themselves"

"And?" My blood was boiling, what is Daniel's problem, does he really have a death sentence, doesn't he like the fact that he's still in one piece

"They r***d two of the young teens"

"And what have you done about this?"

"The boys are in our custody and awaiting your arrival Alpha"

"I've been away for only a week Zeus, I'm only finding my Aria and all this-"

"You found her again?"

"She found us this time, and maybe it's fate"

"What are you going to do? Aren't you worried it would happen again?"

"I'll keep her safe, She's got Nolan and I Zeus, nothing would go wrong this time. I want those boys beaten till their eyes are swollen and bruised. I'll settle things here and drive there by weekend. Talk with iris, she'll know how to handle situation with the girls"

"Yes Alpha" and I blocked him out

Nolan poking at the mindlink, I swear if this boy wasn't my brother I'd have beaten him so much

"I'm trying to work Nolan" I said hinting I was irritated he's bugging me

"You should to get here real fast Lucas" and with that that being he shut off the link

Fuck! What could have happened now? I quickly got out of the study, grabbing my jacket from the chair and the keys and driving all the way to her place like a mad man, and this better not be one of those pranks they usually have on me.

That thought making me smile as I raced to her place hoping all was well.
