Chapter 2: work

Aria's Pov

The alarm wouldn't stop beeping "Stop ringing" I groaned reaching out to stop the alarm, as I couldn't reach it, I pryed one eye open so I could shut it off and the time caught my eye

8:15

Shit, WORK!

I quickly jumped out of bed, and hurriedly jumped in the shower, and then followed through with my morning routine. I then picked a beige coloured pants with a black blouse and chose black heels to match with my top.

Putting my hair in a bun, I wore my usual mascara and eyeliner, lining my lips and applying lipgloss going for my natural look and picking my black purse not forgetting to wear my glasses, no glasses I can't see.

I looked at the clock and noticed I had 15 minutes left before 9, and so I rushed out of my house hailing a cab and doing the same procedure as I did yesterday

When I arrived, I thanked the cab driver not forgetting to greet the doorman before entering the lobby

The mean receptionist from yesterday saw me and her eyes widened "What are you doing here?"

"I work here" with that being said I walked past her and into the elevator, it's still too early for me to start bitching with the witch.

When I reached the top floor, it was exactly 8:58, the receptionist from yesterday wasn't sitting at her desk, I'm guessing she's not in yet. Dashing towards the office where I had the interview, knocking briefly before opening the door, and there he was sitting behind his desk with his arms crossed I could tell this was twin one, with the frown on his face you'd know. Twin two was always smiling at me.

"You made it just in time, now here are the rules;

1- You are my secretary, which means you will do everything I tell you to do.

2- You must go with us to every single meeting we attend, no matter when, no matter where and you must take notes.

3- Your office is out front, and you only give people who have an appointment access to our office, not even as much as anyone who calls themselves family. No appointment, no one comes into my office.

4- You can bring a friend up here during your break, but I'm sure that won't be necessary. When Lucas is back with iris you'll have atleast a partner up here.

5- I do not tolerate people showing intimate affection towards each other on my floor, so no kissing with men, or women if you go that way. Any questions?" He finally finished

"When you said "we" would I be working for you two?"

"Yes, if you aren't comfortable you can leave, we both own this business"

"No I'm comfortable"

"It's going to be a tough job for you princess, if you can't handle it, say so and we'll find someone else to replace you"

I stayed silent

"My brother, Lucas had a last minute meeting this morning and isn't here to grace you with his presence, but he sends his regards and is looking forward to working with you"

"Okay" I said pushing my glasses up

"Good, your task is already placed on your desk in your office but before that, I'd like a coffee, black no cream, no sugar"

"Yes sir" heading towards the door

"Do you find me attractive?" He said out

"Sorry?" I want to know if I heard right

"Did I stutter? No I don't think so, so I'll ask again, Do you find me attractive?"

Let's see, he's not, his biceps are giving, finely built, and look at those eyes, very captivating eyes that seems like he's staring into your soul. But he's my boss and I can't say any of that to me, maybe this is like a test or something

"No sir, I don't"

He stared at me, just stared, then he stood up, removing his jacket causing his muscles to flex under his white shirt.

Placing the jacket on the back of his chair, heading towards me, when he got close enough with every step he took forward, I took one backwards

We kept this process till my back was pressed firmly against the wall and there was 1cm space between us

"Was that the truth?"

"Mhm" my body was betraying me

"Well?" Tracing my lower lip with his thumb, smearing my lipgloss in the process

"Well-" I wasn't really concentrating anymore, he was too close, and his thumb on my lip wasn't making it any better, get yourself together Aria "I'd much appreciate it if you have me my breathing space sir. Rule number five, no form of affection whatsoever, no kissing, no touching"

He looked taken aback "That only applies to you"

"And I am me, I'm right here stating your own rules back to you. This was inappropriate and uncalled for, hoping it doesn't happen again. If you'd excuse me I'd like to clock in and get you that coffee sir" I said with a smile on my face,

"Call me Nolan" walking back to his chair, giving me a good amount of space "And I'd really like that coffee now princess" with that being said I dashed for the door locating my office and stepping in.

Gosh he makes me so nervous, and the way he calls me princess, has goosebumps everywhere.

Finding a sticky note on my desk, I took it off reading it

Hi Aria, my name's iris and it's good to finally have someone work up here with me. When I'm back from the trip I'll let you knyon how everything works around here, but here's a quick one, Mr Nolan is difficult if I must say, but he's really a nice boss, ignore the fact he's always cold and mean. He likes his coffee black, no sugar, no cream and a chocolate dipped donut, since it's your first day, I had everything done for you. Mr Lucas doesn't take coffee in the morning, he prefers water and spicy chicken not forgetting the feets, if he's extra cheerful, he'll have soda. I'll give you the rest of the details when I get back!

Mr Nolan will try to frustrate you, don't pull out your hair so much, I did that on my first day!
