Chapter 3

Bianca's POV “Stop it,” I said in a pleading tone because my body melted under his gentle touch and the sparks his kisses sent to my brain were too much torture. The hotness of his breath was upon the curves of my neck commanding my back to arch further while his finger raked through the locks in my hair. “Laura,” he groaned, a foreign name, in my ears. I mustered all the strength in me and shoved him away, again. He let himself roll and stood up laughing. “I got myself a fierce tigress.” “I'm not yours to have,” I declared, staring him down while trying not to let him see me quiver from his touch. “Darling, you belong to me.” Quinn countered, his hand combing his wet hair back as his eyes traced the curves of my body. He sat on the bed and leaned in till I was trapped with nowhere to look but at his beautiful brown eyes. “You're mine to touch, to caress and to please for eternity and I'll never share you with anyone!” He growled and pecked the palm of my hands. Heat rushed to my cheeks as my breath deepened, the sweet smell of him straight from the shower and the way he claimed me made my body shudder. “No, you lied to my parents, to me and the world that you're a cripple. I'll never trust a man like that.” I blurted, needing a distraction and I might have gone too far because his hands left me and he stood up with a dangerous look in his eyes. “Little tigress, there are certain things you shouldn't meddle with.” “I already told you I'm not your -” “Shush…” he interrupted with a finger to my lips. “For the safety of your entire family, I'd suggest you keep our little secret.” I gulped against my dry throat, terrified at the threat in his words. He seemed satisfied with my reaction and nodded. “There's a celebration tomorrow and I expect you to be on your best behavior. Play along and we'll have a lovely time.” “What if I don't?” I asked. To my question he grinned and left the room after picking up a simple towel. “My name is not Laura,” I muttered, curling my hands and throwing wild punches to the air. Once exhausted, I took a deep breath and slumped into the softness of the bed. I'm convinced that I hate Quinn and I hate my father more. I sighed, the smell of us still thickened the air and when I thought about the way my body reacted I wanted to smack myself. Every spot he touched was still burning. A teardrop rolled down my face and I plucked at it, looking at it in my palm. My grandfather would never have allowed me to cry… I needed to check on him. I could not leave him to chance. The door creaked open and I stepped out into a dark hall. “Where are you Quinn?” I whispered to the darkness. It was technically my house now but I was creeping forward on my tiptoes. There was light flooding out from a room I assumed was his office. Maybe he went to finish up work, whatever that was. I could hear smacking sounds and grunts. I peeked in and had to cover my mouth to stifle my gasp. They stood at the center of the room. Quinn broke the deep kiss and gripped the lady's ass, lifting her to sit on his lap. “Tasha, what right do you have to be here at this hour?” he demande d. Tasha's slender legs were locked around Quinn's waist. “Ain't I your sexy queen? The one with all your secrets… or does your new toy mean more to you?” Quinn caressed her face like he did mine, with care and affection. “Laura is an asset that I purchased and you're the queen. What could possibly top that?” “Is that what you really think of me?” I asked, feeling my heart shatter within me. My head shook rapidly, I could not believe what I was hearing. Quinn turned around sharply and looked at me, I could see Tasha smirk behind him but there was no emotion on his face. “Oops… looks like she caught us.” Tasha chuckled. “But what can she do? She's the collateral in a bid for some lands.” “Tasha, that's enough!” Quinn snapped, and turned to me, his eyes blazing hot. “Is there anything you might need?” My mind literally snapped. There was a neat pile of dollars on the table in his office. I grabbed a bunch of it and threw it at them and I kept throwing till he grabbed my hand. “Stop acting like a child! What do you want in my office?” He demanded and pulled me to him. Tears lined at the edges of my eyes and when he tried to brush them away, I snapped my hands from his grip and pushed him but I was not strong enough to move him. Gritting my teeth I grabbed a handful of dollar notes and turned to leave. “Where do you think you're going?” he called to me. I turned to him and forced a sly smile. “Is it true? My father gave me out in exchange for collateral.” Quinn did not respond, he just stared at me but that was all the answers I needed. “Why don't you sell me off?” I asked, my voice rising and I did not care. “I'd rather be a slave than boast of marriage to a man who's so cheap he'll queen a prostitute.” “Y-You b***h. I'll kill you!” Tasha raged and tried to run at me but Quinn grabbed her and pulled her back. “I asked a question.” Quinn demanded, his fist clenched at his side. “ None of your business!” I said and slammed the door on their faces. I hurried out and highlighted a car that dropped me in front of my grandfather's hospital. I threw the driver dollar notes that surly over paid the cost of transportation and ran into the building. I ran past the receptionist, heading in the direction of my grandfather's room from memory. I wasn't looking when I bumped into what felt like a wall. “Hey, are you alright?” A smooth flowing voice asked. “No, get out of my way.” I said and tried to walk around but he blocked my path. I looked up and into his icy blue eyes that was the color of the ocean waves. My breath caught in my throat, he was a very handsome man. He noticed my staring and smiled. “Why are you crying?... I'm Lancelot.” he asked and offered his hand to guide me. I touched the wetness on my face and wiped it off. “I need to see my grandfather.” “Oh… what ward is he in? I'll go with you.” I shook my head. “It's behind you.” I said and walked past him to open ward 451. It was empty. “The person there was your grandfather?” He asked, his voice taking a concerned edge. He looked away from me like he was expecting someone to crash our meeting. “Lancelot… Where's my grandfather?” I asked, unable to hide the worry in my voice. “Darling… Who is she?” A lady asked behind him. He stepped aside and I saw Laura. Her eyes widened when she saw me. “Wha-What're you doing here?” “Where is he? I demanded, rushing to grab her but Lancelot pulled me aside. “What have you done?” Laura chuckled, straightening her hair. “I came to check if your filthy grandfather was worth our hard-earned money and discovered that he wasn't. I withdrew our support… good luck taking care of him.” “What? Father promised —” “You're so gullible, grow up!” Laura interrupted me. “Out of pity I moved him to a lower ward… you should be grateful.” “Laura, that's enough.” Lancelot turned to me and forced a smile. “Don't worry about the bills, I'll sort it out myself.” He said and motioned a doctor to come to his side. “You can't possibly take her side right now!” Laura said, and glared at me. “You're always trying to take good things from me. Stay away from Lancelot, you're married.” “Stop it! I do what I want and right now I'm going to help this lady. Do you have a problem with that ?” Lancelot asked Laura, who kept shut. “How may I help you?” The doctor asked. He had a set of neatly arranged pens in his pocket. “I need to see the patient that was in ward 451 and pay for all his medical bills. I'll rest at ease once I see that he gets better.” I shook my head. “Y–You don't have to do this for me.” Lancelot held my shoulder and looked into my eyes. His gaze dropped to my lips for a moment. “I want to...” He said. “Take your hands off my property!” Quinn said, from across the hall. Eight guards walked beside Quinn's wheelchair, clearing the path as they made their way toward me. “Who are you?” Lancelot asked, and clenched his fist. I pulled my hands from Lancelot's grip and shook my head. “Thank you for the offer but that's my husband.” “I told you, she's just a gold digger,” Laura added. “Let's get out of here.” Quinn chuckled. “ What makes you think you can get what I have ? Go on and get out with your slut. Leave my property for me. She's mine.” My hands fell to my sides and my face burned with embarrassment. “How can you say that? She's not something you can buy.” Lancelot countered and drew me behind him, ready to fight. “Thank you,” I gripped Lancelot's arm and glared at Quinn. “I am not your assets or property.” I needed to let him know how I felt when I saw him with Tasha. Taking a step forward I leaned in and kissed Lancelot. Quinn's eyes glazed over, his fingers dug into his wheelchair and Laura looked like she'd stab me.
