They had agreed to meet at a cafe half an hour's drive from Eudora's place. As soon as she arrived, she saw Christian waiting by the glass window. “Sorry to keep you waiting,” she said, taking a seat across from him. “It was my fault for asking you to come at such short notice. I'm happy you agreed to meet.” Eudora ordered a coffee, then turned her attention to Christian, asking about his well-being. He had been so kind to her and Donna during her daughter hospital stay, and she wouldn't forget his support. Their conversation flowed easily, mostly centered around Donna's recovery. Truth be told, outside of Donna, their lives didn't really overlap. If Christian wanted to talk, Donna was the only common ground they shared.
