Eudora practically exploded out of Jeffrey's office, furious and heartbroken. Seven years since she'd left the city, seven years since she'd seen Clenda, but the memory of Clenda's kindness was still so strong. She couldn't believe someone so warm could do something so awful. The anger was a knot in her stomach, twisting and burning. It wouldn't let up, not even when she got home. Eudora longed to confront Clenda, to hear her explanation for this betrayal.
