I scrambled up from the bench, my hands were still trembling violently, with Sebastian’s dark, red blood flaking under my fingernails.
But hearing Aunt Sophia’s murmur, the surgeon slowly pulled off his surgical mask first. His grim expression didn’t offer comfort to me as he looked directly into my panicked eyes.
"Doctor..." Then, my voice was barely a whisper, raw from sobbing hard. "How is he?"
