Chapter 11
A stocky orderly ushered Cody into a large sterile room with a table, two chairs, and little else. He guessed the space was used for patients to speak with their lawyers. He only waited two minutes before the door opened and Adam Monroe shuffled in.
Cody had envisioned an ugly, twitching man in his twenties who would frighten him, or even a cold, Hannibal Lecter type. Instead, he found an incredibly attractive guy who was only a little older than himself.
Adam had a mess of short, strawberry blond hair and a button nose. There was a smattering of freckles under his green eyes. He looked to be six one or six two, and wore a thin gray hoodie with black flames on it. He sat across from Cody and gave him a slow once-over.
