The forest surrounding the Millicent Guthrie Home consisted of mostly conifers with a few deciduous trees as well. Hundreds of new and interesting scents pulled at my attention as I trotted beside my team leader, and I wondered how wolves coped with having an even better sense of smell. The forest floor under my paws felt rather nice, too. We were close to the entrance by that point, and there was a clear line of sight to the orphanage’s front door.
