I ran through the list of stuff I needed to do to close out the human portion of my life as I drove back to town from the trailhead. I didn’t like that Grandpa called his accountant and told him to transfer a tidy sum to me, but given the lack of regular payment with my old job, it was unfortunately not the first time he’d done that.
