I look between both of them as my hands fall off Phillips's clothes. We all stare at them as we take in this information. “What the hell is that supposed to mean?” my voice is hard. Josh is confused with his hand cradling his jaw, and Phillips's eyes are wide. “Mom?” but she doesn’t look at me. “Are you saying you were f*****g her way before mom died?” Mom flinches. Phillps words are crude but I can’t defend her. I don’t know what is true anymore. “Language boy or else you leave my house” My father warns and this time it’s my turn to burst out laughing. “Gladly,” Phillip says as he walks out of the room. All my life here, I thought he treated me differently because he didn’t fully accept me as his son. I came into their lives as the third wheel of some sort, an unwanted addition.
