I watch her walk away to go get the door. I look down at the camera and photo album in my hand.
My birthdays are my worst days now. I woke up feeling terrible after what happened, and I have stopped celebrating it since then. It didn’t feel right to be happy on this day.
I’m sure by now, Dr Ben and Rosa were at a remembrance service for their daughter. I couldn’t bring myself to go with them, but I’ve always made myself available for a few hours.
