“Get down,” I hissed quickly, snatching Levi’s phone from the table and rushing into the living room before Levi could come to the dining area.
“This is it,” I muttered, slightly breathless as I stretched the phone to him.
He stared at me for a moment before walking closer and taking the phone from my hand. “Are you okay?”
“Of course,” I said softly, forcing a smile. “I am fine.” I tried to convince myself more than him.
He nodded once and turned away, heading outside. “I will be back tonight… have a nice day ahead.” he let out a small smile as I could only watch him walk off.
I didn’t waste a second before I locked the door behind him. I wasn’t about to risk this happening again.
I sat back on the couch, exhaling deeply. But a second later, the cushion dipped beside me, he didn't even give me a second to breathe.
I rolled my eyes changing the channel, anything to keep my mind off his annoying self. “Go eat your fo…”
Before I could finish, he yanked me toward him.
“I prefer tasting you first,” he murmured against my ear, his hands circling my waist and giving it a playful pinch. As much as I hate to admit, he knows every single way he could use to get me.
I glared at him, trying to stay calm. “Go eat that food before I lose my temper.”
His hands slid away, and he sighed dramatically. “Fine. I wouldn’t want your hard work to go to waste.”
I watched him walk to the dining table, finally picking up his fork. I barely had another second of peace before I heard a vibration. His phone buzzed on the couch beside me.
I ignored it at first, until I caught sight of the lock screen, which was a photo of me sleeping.
My eyes widened instantly.
“William Nathaniel Hales!” I yelled, storming toward the dining room. He froze mid-bite, staring at me in shock. He must have realized how serious I was when I had just used his full name.
“What’s wrong?” he asked carefully.
I thrust the phone at him. “What is this? Taking my picture without even telling me?”
He leaned back in his chair, lips curving into that infuriating smirk. “Isn’t it beautiful?”
Did he call me beautiful without thinking twice about it? I felt the heat rise in my cheeks, but I refused to blush. “William, what if someone sees this? What if your friends look through your phone? What are you going to tell them?”
His smirk faded. He looked down at his plate and went back to eating like nothing had happened.
“William!”
“Relax,” he said casually. “You are the only one who touches my phone anyway.”
I scoffed. “You always want things your way. This is my privacy that you’re invading. You are crossing a line already!”
He didn’t even glance at me. Just kept eating. “Change it!” I yelled at him and he still refused to respond to me.
Frustration burned in my chest. I bit my lip, turned away, and walked back to the living room before I said something I would regret. I wanted to scream, to cry, to hit something but nothing came out.
I tried going through it so I could change it but this crazy man didn't give access to his photos or videos. I was still rummaging through his phone when another message popped in..
Curiosity got the better of me and I read through it
“Hey, man! I get that your b*tch might be important, but you are needed at the presidential villa.”
My chest constricted at this moment, not only am I sad that I was called a b***h but Levi should have been the one getting messages like this. He worked so hard and he deserved this recognition, not William.
I was still staring when the phone was snatched out of my hands.
“I find people reading my messages annoying,” he said coolly.
“Oh, please,” I shot back. “You have invaded more than just my privacy, and…”
My words froze as he suddenly leaned closer, eyes locking onto mine. My breath caught. I could feel the heat of his skin and the rhythm of his breath brushing my face.
“You mean your privacy,” he murmured, “or your honey pot?”
My eyes widened, heat rushing to my cheeks. “St… stay back.”
He sighed, then did something completely unexpected. He lay down, resting his head on my thigh, eyes closed.
“William, what are you doing?”
“Shhh,” he whispered, pressing a finger to my lips. “Let me rest. It’s been a while since I ate this much.”
“You are supposed to exercise after eating, not sleep, and besides you requested it.”
He snickered, still with his eyes closed. “I will get back in shape when I leave here. For now… I just want to rest.”
I rolled my eyes, but my breath slowed as I looked down at him. He was already half-asleep, his sandy blond hair brushing against my skin.
I caught myself staring, tracing the line of his jaw, the way his lashes framed his eyes. He looked infuriatingly perfect.
The phone buzzed again in his hand. I carefully slipped it from his fingers and glanced at the message.
“Son, congratulations! Why aren’t you with your team? Everyone’s waiting to see you.”
I sighed quietly, did he ever realize how famous he really was? How every move he takes matters
Another message appeared again.
“Dude! The president’s waiting. You need to show up.”
I looked down at him again, still peacefully asleep on my thigh, like none of it mattered.
“William… you should leave,” I said softly but he didn’t move.
My hand hovered over his hair, almost touching, but I stopped myself. His beauty was disarming and that messy golden hair, the soft rise and fall of his chest, those lips that always had something arrogant to say.
As if sensing my gaze, his voice came low, still half asleep. “I bet your fiancé isn’t as handsome as me.”
I froze, speechless, as a small, infuriated laugh escaped me.
He didn’t even open his eyes, but just smirked, still resting against me, and I hated that my heart skipped anyway.
