“Regret.”
That was the only word echoing in my head ever since I pushed William away and supported Levi.
It clung to me like a shadow. No matter how hard I tried to breathe through it, it refused to leave.
I did not even fully understand why I reacted the way I did with him. I only knew it felt like the safest choice at that moment. Like the only way to stop things from spiraling even further out of control.
