WILLIAM
“So what do you think?” I asked the moment she stepped down from the jet.
Pretty sure she has found out by now that I had crossed another limit, for which she will curse me out.
Sky simply stood there, frozen, staring straight ahead as if the entire world had gone quiet around her.
The breeze lifted strands of her hair, the sunlight kissing her skin in a way that made something tight coil in my chest.
I sighed softly and didn’t push it. Instead, I stepped closer and reached for her hand.
She shot me that look. The one that always made me want to either laugh or pin her down just to see how far that fire went.
“You are a popular figure,” she said sharply, pulling her hand back. “And you want to hold my hand? Do you ever think?”
I rolled my eyes and grabbed her hand anyway, tugging her closer to my side.
“No one will see us,” I said calmly. “This place is practically private. And guess what.” I leaned in slightly, lowering my voice. “I am taking you on a date.” She scoffed.
“Explain how you knew to come here?” I pulled her closer to me with my hands around her waist as I admired those beautiful lips.
“I felt like coming down on her, don't you like it?” She stared at me for a few seconds and sighed but didn’t pull away again.
In the moment a black luxury car was already waiting, engine humming softly. Everything had been arranged long before we landed.
Timing, security, privacy. I don’t leave things to chance when it comes to her.
The drive was quiet, but not awkward. Sky stared out the window, taking in the unfamiliar city, the way the streets curved toward the coast, the way the air smelled different here.
I watched her more than the road.
She didn’t notice at first, well she never does, I am pretty sure all she thinks about right now is none other than that bastard.
When the car finally slowed, I made sure the door was locked before she flew out of it.
“Do what I want… Remember you are not in your city.” she stared back at me with rage burning inside of them and then rolled her eyes.
I stepped out first and walked around to open her door, I smiled and she accepted my hand as she slowly stepped out.
The marina stretched before us, pristine and sunlit, yachts lined like floating palaces on water so blue it almost looked unreal.
And right there, waiting was my yacht with my name written broadly on it.
Sky stopped walking, her eyes widened slowly, disbelief washing over her face.
“William,” she whispered. “What is that?” I smiled, another argument was about to ring in.
“Ours for the day.” She turned to me so fast I almost laughed. “We are not going on that.”
“You already are.” She shook her head.
“No… no… no.. How many days are you planning to keep me here?” I ignored the question, slid my arm around her waist, and lifted her clean off the ground before she could react.
“William!” she yelled, hitting my shoulder. “Put me down!”
“Nope.”
“I hate you!” she yelled at me, and I could only smile in return.
I carried her straight up the boarding ramp as she protested, cursed, and threatened my life in at least three different ways.
The crew averted their eyes respectfully, already briefed to treat her like she owned the world.
The moment I set her down on the deck, she froze again. Now staring at the cushioned lounges, a dining area set up with chilled drinks, fresh fruit, and flowers.
Her anger visibly cracked, pretty sure she was hungry and thought this should be the first.
“This is…” she trailed off.
“Mine,” I finished. “And today, it’s yours.” She swallowed, then immediately caught herself. “I still don’t like you.” I laughed out loud.
“Good,” I said softly. “That makes this more interesting.”
At my signal, the crew bowed and moved into position, their footsteps fading into the background as the yacht eased away from the dock.
The low hum of the engine vibrated beneath our feet, subtle at first, then steady, and I felt the exact moment she realized we were truly moving.
Her fingers flew to the railing.
The water shifted, a gentle sway that was barely noticeable, yet her body reacted instantly. Her balance faltered, breath catching, shoulders tensing as if the sea itself had reached out to claim her. She swallowed hard, eyes fixed on the rolling surface below, color draining from her face.
“Damn it! She hasn't been on this before.” I quickly stepped in before she could panic.
My hand slid to her waist, making her collide softly with my chest, and for a heartbeat, the world narrowed to the warmth of her body pressed against mine.
She fit there too naturally, as though she had always belonged in that space.
“Careful,” I murmured near her ear, my voice low, almost indulgent.
She stiffened, anger flaring even through her unease, and placed her palm against my chest, pushing lightly as if to remind herself she was still in control. “I didn’t ask for your help, you jerk!”
I smiled, not pulling away, my hand remaining steady at her waist, thumb tracing slow, absent circles meant more to soothe than to claim.
I adjusted my stance, shielding her from the worst of the sway, positioning my body so the movement of the yacht barely reached her.
“Well, I brought you here so I need to help,” I replied calmly.
“If you had just respected my space and followed the contract, maybe I wouldn't be!” she yelled back at me and I only smiled in return.
Her breathing was shallow, uneven, and I felt it against me. I leaned just enough for her to hear me over the water, my tone unhurried, grounding. “Look at me, not the sea.”
She hesitated, but having no choice then did, and the moment our eyes met, I felt the tension in her shoulders loosen slightly.
I guided her a step back, away from the edge, keeping her close, my hand never leaving her as I subtly matched my movements to the rhythm of the yacht, absorbing the motion so she wouldn’t have to.
The ocean could do its worst. I would not let her feel it.
“Still got it,” I added quietly.
She didn’t respond, but she didn’t pull away again either. Instead, she stayed there, allowing me to steady her.
Finally, when I felt her resolve lightened, I knew she could stand on her feet then I whispered so low in her ear.
“Are you sure you are not falling for me?” Instantly she pushed me away and stood still, making a smile spread across my face.
I knew she would get used to it, "Take me back! I don't want to…” I pulled her roughly closer to me.
“You promise to stay with me all day today, so deal with it..” I let out my voice a bit coldly, she could only tremble as he stared back at me with shock.
Seeing how speechless she was I could tell I had easily won for some seconds so before she could pour out her heart I gestured to the dining area.
“Pretty sure you are hungry, let's go eat.
