YOU WILL GET PUNISHED FOR THAT

SKY The car finally came to a stop in front of my apartment building, it was already the next day. I slept the whole ride back from the ship. The next minute I opened my eyes, and I was in the airplane, and the next I was already in the car. He didn't for once wake me up, all through the ride until I found my eyes wide open in the car. And guess what, my so-called fiancé still had not returned a single call. Not even once, he had told me he would call me at night but nope I didn't receive one. I sighed deeply, rubbing my temples. I had told William repeatedly that I could handle myself, that he did not need to drive me home. But as usual, he ignored me and did whatever he wanted. I rolled my eyes and reached for the door handle, ready to get out, when his hand suddenly caught my wrist pulling me back. “Take this,” he said. I frowned and looked back at him. Pushed a paper bag into my hands. Curious, I opened it and froze. Inside were neatly packed food containers. The exact food I had refused to eat earlier. Along with other meals, fruits, and snacks. I stared at it for a moment, then looked at him. Sometimes, I really wondered what went on in William’s head. How could someone be so annoying and so caring at the same time? “See you another time,” he said casually, already starting the engine again. Weirdly, I found myself asking a question before I could stop myself. “You’re not going to disturb me the whole week, right?” I asked, a small smirk playing on my lips. I remembered he had a weekend match coming up. Training would keep him busy. He glanced at me, eyes dark with amusement. “I still have five solid nights left,” he said slowly. “You should not hurry, baby girl.” I rolled my eyes again, muttering a curse under my breath. If not for his father suddenly calling him away, he would probably have dragged me somewhere else entirely. I was just about to leave when he pulled me back again. “You didn’t give me a goodbye kiss.” I scoffed. “Excuse me? We are not…” I stopped, memories from the yacht flashing through my mind. He tilted his head slightly and tapped his cheek. “That’s more like it.” I burst out laughing, shaking my head. Then I leaned in and kissed his cheek quickly, exactly where he pointed. He smiled but before I could pull away, his hand slid to my waist and he pulled me forward, pressing his lips against mine. I froze for half a second, then relaxed. I did not push him away nor did I respond. I just let it happen. When he finally pulled back, my breath felt uneven. I leaned back in my seat and reached for the door again, only to find out it was still locked. “William,” I called out tiredly. “What else do you want now?” Instead of answering, he stretched out a black card. “Take this to spend for yourself,” he said calmly. I stared at the card then back at him. “I have a fiancé, William.” His jaw tightened at once. “I don't give a damn..” He sighed and pushed the card closer to me. Of course, he does what he wants and would never listen to my opinion. The best I can do is collect it and keep it till God knows when. Then I heard the click of the door unlocking. “Oh, and keep that car,” he added casually. “I have removed my name from it.” My eyes widened, I had only threatened him that day out of anger. “What?” He winked back at me. “Enjoy.” I was too shocked to speak. I only nodded and stepped out of the car. “Don’t forget to cook my favorite,” he called out. “I will reach out soon. “I am no…” my words were left hanging as he drove off if nothing had happened. I stood there for a moment, completely stunned, wondering what in the world was going on in his head. I was still lost in thought when I heard my name. “Sky.” I stiffened at once and turned around slowly only to come face to face with Levi. I was supposed to be worried whether he had seen me or asked what he had seen but remembering the picture I only rolled my eyes and headed toward my apartment door. “Sky,” he called again as he followed me closely. “Whose car was that?” he asked. “And where have you been all night? Why are you just coming?” I ignored him. “Sky!” he raised his voice, grabbing my arm and turning me around. “I am talking to you. Why are you just coming now? And whose car was that? Are you cheating on me?” Fear flashed in his eyes as he asked that question: We had been together for years. I knew every one of his expressions. “No,” I said coldly, pulling my hand away. “I am not cheating on you.” I lied. “Maybe if you had picked up my call instead of handing your phone to Camille, you would have known where I went.” He swallowed hard now feeling guilty. “I… I..” “Go meet your precious Camille,” I snapped. “It’s clear your mother wants her more than me anyway. We can just break up if you don’t want me anymore.” I reached for the door, but suddenly he grabbed my hand and dropped to his knees making me freeze. Levi Grant was kneeling in front of me almost in tears, I felt so guilty staring at him this way. “I am sorry,” he said quickly. “I didn’t know you would take it this seriously. I tried to give you space because of how badly my mum treated you… I was too ashamed to look at you, not only have I caused your suspension but also couldn't make mum help. He stood up and pulled me into a tight embrace before I could reply. “I am sorry about the pictures,” he continued. “That was the pose they wanted. I have spoken to my mum. She will try to treat you better. Please don’t ever think of leaving me.” “Levi… stand up, you can’t….” He hugged me tighter, like he was afraid I would disappear. “I love you, Sky,” he said softly. “We will get married soon. Please don’t leave me.” Guilt settled heavily in my chest. How would he feel if he knew I had already crossed a line? “You didn’t call,” I said quietly. “When I called, Camille answered. After my suspension, you started ignoring me.” He shook his head immediately. “I swear I told her to hold my phone during a meeting. I didn’t know you called until now. I have been busy all morning.” and I sighed. “Fine,” I said. Relief washed over his face as he pulled me into another embrace. I hugged him back, though my heart felt heavy. When we finally pulled apart, he smiled, then pulled my hands, and suddenly frowned. “Where’s your ring?” My heart dropped at once as I looked at my bare finger. Fuck… I didn't even know exactly when I had left it. “I got angry and took it off,” I lied quickly. “I will wear it again when I feel better.” “Sky…” “You hurt me,” I said firmly. “You need to make it up to me.” He nodded with a smile. “I promise I will.” he let out. I opened the door and he stepped inside first. As I was about to close it, I noticed a figure at the end of the corridor catching my breath. “William?” No. It couldn’t be him. He had said he needed to see his father urgently. I shut the door and rushed to the window, pulling the curtain aside. My heart skipped when I saw William’s car drive out of the driveway. He had seen everything. My phone buzzed at that moment, so I picked it up. “You will get punished for that.”
