I watched Esmeray storm out of the dining hall. There was something different about her I was drawn to her. I had never before had a woman put me in my place like that. I had no idea why she seemed so angry about something that didn’t even happen with Gia but I intended on finding out “If you’ll all excuse me I think me and Alpha Esmeray have a few things to discuss”

I hurried out the doors after her “Esmeray can we talk?” She didn’t even turn towards me when I spoke “Okay well can you at least tell me what that was about and why you seem so angry?” Still nothing I reached out and grabbed her arm to stop.

As soon as I touched her arms I felt sparks erupt from the touch and I was hit by that sweet honeysuckle and vanilla smell. Jasper immediately knew ‘Mate’ She turned and I looked at her beautiful two different colored eyes. “Mate.”

I could help but touch her I need her so I pulled her to me hard and fast loving how her body immediately responded to my touch.I kissed her hard needing to taste her lips. My body was tingling and buzzing so hard from how great she felt. Then it hit me why am I just know figuring out I’ve been here for hours. I pulled away immediately and looked at her “Why didn’t I know when I first got here? How did I not smell you?”

She looked like a deer in head lights and turned to run away but I wasn’t going to let her get away this time without an answer“Esmeray stop! What’s going on? Why are you running away from me? Did you know?” I could feel my voice almost break. Jasper was in the back of my head whimpering ‘Mate lied. Somethings wrong’

I stood waiting for a response I was hurt and confused. Was she really our mate or was this all some kind of a trick? “I.. um I can’t tell you. Not yet at least. I’m sorry this wasn’t supposed to happen not like this at least. Not yet. I’ll explain everything tonight after dinner. Please don’t follow me, just give me until tonight.”

I went to follow her but she shifted when she got out of the doors then I saw her wolf. She was beautiful and something I had never seen before. She was split straight down the middle one half the purest white and the other the most solid black I had ever seen. I knew there was something different about her I just didn’t know what.

I turned back and went upstairs to my room. I immediately dialed my best friend and soon to be beta Trevor “Have you left yet?”

He answered the first ring luckily “Well hello to you too. No I’m leaving in an hour to board the plane. Why what’s going on?”

“I need you to find all the information you can on this pack and bring it with you.”

“Okay can I ask why?”

“She’s my mate but something isn’t right. Don’t tell anyone just say you needed it for safety reasons and hurry with it”

“Okay I’ll be there by 8 tonight. Hold off on anything until I’m there”

I hung up and paced my room. I knew she had to come back for the meeting at 5 so I went and sat in the common room to wait.

I was joined by Alpha Weston and Alpha Calvin. I knew very little of either one but knew Alpha Weston was a close ally to the Dark Moon Pack. They came and sat across from me. They were both young and fairly new Alphas. Alpha Weston was the first to break the silence “That Esmeray is something isn’t she?”

“Yeah that’s one way to put it.”

“She’s a pretty one. I intend on asking her to be my chosen mate tonight before the ceremony”

This got my attention. I let out a slight growl before realizing what I was doing.

“Is that a problem Levi? Do you intend on challenging me for her?”

I wouldn’t let this lesser male see he had gotten to me so I laughed a cool laugh “She’ll have to accept you first and something tells me that won’t happen.”

“We’ve had this planned since we were children. We’ve known each other all our lives. Her parents had wished for this”

This made me irate but I couldn’t show it. She was mine no one else’s no matter what I found out. She was mine. I again laughed at him “We’ll see about that. I think her plans may have changed.”

Just as he was about to continue on she walked in. I couldn’t smell her again for some strange reason. I didn’t let her see me catch a glimpse of her. She was in shorts and a tight tank top it made my blood boil for other males to see her like this. It took everything in me to restrain myself from getting up and grabbing her and teaching her a lesson upstairs but I did. I wouldn’t let her see me even look at her. Many other Alphas had filtered into the common area and she almost snuck past until Alpha Ben saw her. Esmeray! We’ve been mindlinking all afternoon won’t you join us?”

“Actually I was about to go freshen up before the meeting if that’s alright I’ll be back down at 5.” Then she practically ran up the stairs to elevator.

I sat in the common area sipping on some whiskey until the meeting at 5. I talked to a few of the other alphas but avoided Weston. I wasn’t so sure I could take anymore of him before I ripped his head off. Everyone seemed to filter into the large conference room by 5 except for Esmeray and then I smelled her. It was the most amazing scent and instantly made me want her. Then she walked in. I only caught a brief glance of her in her skin tight dress that hugged her full breast and thick a**. It was enough to make my c*** twitch. I knew if I looked at her then I would take her right here. That was her goal and I knew it. I wouldn’t be the one to come begging for it.

I had to sit and listen to that lesser male Weston flirt and talk to her the whole meeting make my skin crawl. She was mine and I will make sure she knows it.

Everyone filed out of the conference room. Then I saw Weston approach her. They were both smiling at each other and I knew his intentions. If she wanted to play this game I could play. I spotted Gia across the room and all I had to do was flash her a smile and she was immediately coming towards me.
